xnoxhatex (1305), Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA Dec 28, 2007 Bottle from BevMo, Encinitas. Dark amber with off-white head. Aroma is very full with caramel malt and deep citrus and pine aroma. Flavor is very strong citrus with fruit and caramel. Medium to full body. Very nice. jake65 (1657), Williston, North Dakota, USA Dec 22, 2007 Bottle: Dark copper pour with a thick, creamy beige head. Nice thick lacing. Aroma is mild with maltiness, fruits, and citrus. Flavor is very well balanced, malty, florals, citrus, caramel, and a medley of fruitiness. I think this is a great example of the style and very well done. Snojerk321 (1917), San Diego, California, USA Dec 22, 2007 22oz bottle from Bevmo Carmel Mountain. Beer pours a burnt orange/ copper color, head was medium sized and off white. Nice lacing. Nose was malty (caramel, toffee, raisiny), and also hoppy (grapefruit, pine and grass). Nice easy mouthfeel with a slightly bitter finish. A great one! SuzyGreenberg (1318), Seattle, Washington, USA Dec 20, 2007 22 oz. bottle - pours clear amber with off white head; aromas of malts and sweet caramel; slight spice in the flavors mixed with nice hop addition and creamy malt finish; don’t drink ESB’s too often, but this was a nice one after4ever (2711), Brier, Washington, USA Dec 13, 2007 22. Thanks, Terry! This one was a bit of a disappointment--clearly starting down the road toward full-blown infection. Geysered a bit, showing plenty of fizzy platinum blonde foam atop a clear medium amber. Smells a bit orange-y citric and sweetly sour. Fizzy medium body. Lightly tart and spicy mid-palate. Clean finish, no detectable hops. Gotta get back to this one someday. Cletus (5001), Connecticut, USA Dec 13, 2007 Bottle courtesy of dirty martini. Pours mahogany with a nice white head. Smells of citrus, roses, touches of caramel and hints of pepper. Tastes of sweet malt with some nice underlying spice, hints of citrus and a nice finish that yields some floral notes. An excellent beer.
