Commercial Description:
Bright copper color, sparkling clarity, and good foam retention when properly served. Appealing Brussels lace. Deep toasty/caramelly malt balanced by spicy/fruity hop flavors accented by fruit esters resulting from fermentation with a championship yeast strain. The aroma is subtle and reflects the flavor with malt, hop and fruit (ester)/fermentation characteristics. Smooth, medium-bodied. Easy drinking with no harsh or astringent sensations.

Nice balance of hops and malt. Less carbonated than other brews which made it very smoothe. Aroma was of hops and citrus with hints of roasted caramel. Taste was very smoothe with a bit of a bitterness finish. Not overpowering. Good solid brew.

Bottle. Not bad at all. Some nice caramelly malt, with some grainy malt notes. Nice citrusy, ever so slightly floral hop notes, with some nice bitterness in the finish. Quite well balanced and very drinkable.

Bottle shared by bdburdman. Dirty orange pour with a light tan head. Aroma of oranges, perfumey floral hops and some light caramel elements. Flavor was more earthy hops than the bright floral ones in the aroma with a sturdy backbone of toasted caramel malt. Medium bodied malty and earthy throughout with subtle bitterness in parts and a kind of toasty finish. Pretty nice.

Fruity aroma with a hint of anise. Smooth medium bodied palette. Strong caramel flavor with hints of fruit and licorice. Clean, if somewhat sour, finish.

A bit overcarbonated, but otherwise quite solid. NO Cascades and so the hops chosen (slightly fruity/floral/earthy, whatever they are) mesh rather nicely with the nice toffee and mild fruity flavors of the malt. I wish there was a local ESB similar to this that I could drink regularly.

Thanks dirty martini! Beautiful clear dark amber with a great fluffy tan head that wont go away. Spotty but nice lacing. nice balanced roasted nut and pine aroma. sweet roasted nutty sweet tea flavor with nice bitter piney hop notes. sweet roasted nutty finish. a bit over carbonated.......the kind of over carbonated that makes you burp after every sip....but other than that a very nice solid drinkable balanced ESB. i would drink this one all the time if it was available here.

25-ounce bottle. Aroma was slight, carbonation, malt, hops, yeast; all very light in smell. Flavor was rather uninspiring, along the lines of a standard EPA, with grain, hops, a little fruit, and a little malt. Carbonation was evident and I would have preferred a higher alcohol content to bring out the flavors.
