Commercial Description:
Bright copper color, sparkling clarity, and good foam retention when properly served. Appealing Brussels lace. Deep toasty/caramelly malt balanced by spicy/fruity hop flavors accented by fruit esters resulting from fermentation with a championship yeast strain. The aroma is subtle and reflects the flavor with malt, hop and fruit (ester)/fermentation characteristics. Smooth, medium-bodied. Easy drinking with no harsh or astringent sensations.

This beer poured with no head at all--like water, literally. The mouthfeel is too watery for me, too. The taste and color were nice, but I think maybe ESB just isn’t one of my favorite styles. I should say that the taste was good and the beer was very drinkable,

My first alesmith, and it was good. Pours an amber with small, if any, off-white head. Aroma of malts, caramel, and floral notes. Flavors of sweet malt, caramel, a little bit of citrus, and earthiness. Smooth with only a small amount of hop bitterness. Best ESB I’ve had yet.

Very good ESB. Very smooth. I think could use more finnishing hops, but probably true to style. Very english in nature.

Bottle from Liqourama : WoW smell of caramel and malts. Pours a beautiful dark amber color with a tan head. Taste is hops and earth tones caramel and malt. I really enjoy this beer. I can actually say that this is my first ESB and I do enjoy it.

650ml bottle obtained in a trade with <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?UserID=10361 target=blank>DarkElf, thanks Stephen. Deep ruby-copper in colour, long lasting off-white coloured head, great lacing. The aroma is of citrus hops, caramel malts, earthy, floral, noticable sweetness. The flavour isn’t as bitter as expected, lots of caramel sweetness, light citric hops, lemons. Pronounced sweetness, slightly bitter mouthfeel, medium body, medium/high carbonation. Finishes with a lingering citric hop bitterness. Almost light a light barleywine for whatever reason, very good stuff.

Bomber poured a clear amber with a lasting amber head. Aromas of carmel, toffee, a hint of orange and some earthiness. Palate was medium bodied and very smooth. Flavors of carmel, light cocoa, some citrus notes and toffee with a smooth moderatly bitter finish.

The body was medium red with a light tan colored head. The aroma was oranges with some caramel. The taste was caramel with some iced tea. There was alittle bit of chocolate in the finish. There was also some pear core. This beer was pretty smooth yet thick. Another winner from Alesmith.

Great ESB, wonderful aroma and flavor. Decently full body but not overly sweet. Bottle-conditioned bomber from this innovative brewery. I have had better but not many.
