The beer poured dark amber with a big fluffy head. Although I’ve had in tap and on bottle before it was extra special on cask and really tasted nice with a good hoppy bitter bite. The mouthfeel is too watery for me, too. The taste and color were nice, but I think maybe ESB just isn’t one of my favorite styles. I should say that the taste was good and the beer was very drinkable, JohnnyJ (1309), Carlsbad, California, USA

Aroma of malts, caramel, and floral notes. Flavors of sweet malt, caramel, a little bit of citrus, and earthiness. Smooth with only a small amount of hop bitterness. Best ESB I’ve had yet. Pours a beautiful dark amber color with a tan head. Taste is hops and earth tones caramel and malt. I really enjoy this beer. I can actually say that this is my first ESB and I do enjoy it. radiomgb (1957), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada

href=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?U target=blank>DarkElf, thanks Stephen. Deep ruby-copper in colour, long lasting off-white coloured head, great lacing. The aroma is of citrus hops, caramel malts, earthy, floral, noticable sweetness. The flavour isn’t as bitter as expected, lots of caramel sweetness, light citric hops, lemons. Pronounced sweetness, slightly bitter mouthfeel, medium body, medium/high carbonation. Finishes with a lingering citric hop bitterness. Almost light a light barleywine for whatever reason, very good stuff. ratman197 (3187), Arvada, Colorado, USA

The aroma was oranges with some caramel. The taste was caramel with some iced tea. There was alittle bit of chocolate in the finish. There was also some pear core. This beer was pretty smooth yet thick. Another winner from Alesmith.
