COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bright copper color, sparkling clarity, and good foam retention when properly served. Appealing Brussels lace. Deep toasty/caramelly malt balanced by spicy/fruity hop flavors accented by fruit esters resulting from fermentation with a championship yeast strain. The aroma is subtle and reflects the flavor with malt, hop and fruit (ester)/fermentation characteristics. Smooth, medium-bodied. Easy drinking with no harsh or astringent sensations.

Deep, almost coppery amber. aroma is medicinal of sorts, but not in a bad way. Citrus and grapefruit. Mellow taste with some mild fruityness. Relatively bitter.

Bottle, 0.65l, shared with Hoppiness crew. Clear copper color with large fluffy off-white head. Aroma of caramel, toasted malt, resin and herbal hops. Taste starts moderate sweet caramelly, follows by dried fruity esters, slight bready sourness and hoppy finish. Medium body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. It feels better than English ESB brews...

Clear amber body with a thin tan head. Aroma is bread, some flowery fresh hops, caramel, citrus, spice. Taste is light, watery, not too sweet not too bitter. I give it a low score for taste since I think it doesn’t really taste like a bitter should but overall I personally really liked this beer. Very refreshing and drinkable.

Would have rated higher but bought this then noticed it was 9 months old so stale. Disappointing that a local outlet selling basically ’expired’ beer in same town where brewed (San Diego). Very much on target for the style - lots of bready, caramelly, goodness, medium fruity esters, malt dominating. Am guessing would have had more hops flavor & aroma if fresher. A respectable, tasty brew evident despite oxidation.

650ml bottle. Pours a hazy burnished copper, with a moderate off-white head, which lasts well and leaves very good lacing. Nutty, savoury malt is the main component of the aroma, with fruity, spicy hops in the mix as well. Surprisingly strong spice and citrus hops up front develop into a lemon flavour. Nutty malt and fruitcake in the mid-palate give way to fruity and mild floral hops in the finish. A pretty decent ESB.

Color caoba con espuma marfil. Aroma floral, canela, y tofe. Cuerpo ligero, sabor fresco, canela y herbal con final de amargor moderado y seco. Bien.

650 ml. bottle sampled @ Barley Legal Tasting Room. Thanks! Kraddel. Faint reddish chestnut wood brown, med. tanned head. Smells watery, lightly oxidized, feels old (there is no date on the bottle), nuts, old pine resin hops, herbal hops. Watery taste, oxidation, nutty, old resin hops, mild herbal hop bitterness in the back, chestnuts, old furniture, dried flowers,… I feel like I keep getting old bottles by this brewery but they are never dated so the brewery must think that they are still good to drink. Either way, I do not get at all the high scores that this brewery gets.
