NIce aroma of caramel and roasty notes with some spicy hops. Flavour is full, balanced esb without the typical hop dominace that I don’t always care for. Smooth beer. theisti (1700), Leawood, Kansas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 1, 2009 22 oz bottle purchased at Chris’ Liquors in San Diego, California. Pour is hazed burgundy with an off white 1 inch head. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, with floral orange citrus hoppiness. Grainy and assertive. Taste is toasty caramel malt, though less sweet than expected from the nose. The floral hops and orange citrus, with bitter pine hops lead to dry crisp finish. Palate is medium, grainy - real drinkable. Nice. BuckeyeBoy (1699), Boise, Idaho, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Nov 26, 2008 This poured a copper-brown with a fat tan head and very rich lacing. The mouthfeel is very rich and slick, and it goes down very smoothly. Nose is of malts and some pine hops. Very well balanced brew. Flavor is not complex but enjoyable. The most remarkable thing about this beer is how drinkable it is. It gets even better as it warms up. Don’t drink this one too cold.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Jun 2, 2009 I’ve had multiple chances at getting this beer over the years and finally made the move ona recent trip to Costa Mesa. The beer pours out a burnt orange with a nice 2" foamy head. Honey sweet aroma with notes of berries, toasted bread/pie crust, and just a hint of toffee. Flavor has a really strong juicy citrus hop flavor, a nice malt sweetness (reminds me of pears) and subtle apples. High carbonation knocks it down a bit for me. Very nice overall though. Nose of apple juice. Flavor is a tart earthy sourness. This must be old as hell. Will have to try again fresh. douglas88 (1686), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
