From a 22 oz bottle shared at home. Pours a cloudy dark copper with a thick off white head. Malty nose. Caramel notes with some hop bitterness. Nice beer.

3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Super intense, barley winey aroma- caramel, berries, maltiness- wow. Pours casual in the glass- bubbly, spongey, thick, finger wide top. Taste- medium sweet, light bitterness; smooth, soft palate. Very drinkable and pleasant; only alarm was untypical strong malt bill versus light hops presence in flavor. Medium bodied

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Malty background, caramel, some light fruitiness, bit hops. Quite light medium bodied, but well balanced. Promising nose, but taste makes question myself - why I didnt just grab a barley wine. Decent, but nothing to remember.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Chestnut brown with a foamy white head. Leaves some nice lacing around the glass. Medium body and low carb. Does a good job of being an English ale - could imagine this as a pint of bitter in a quiet country pub - except that the flavours are pumped up with dark malts, burnt caramel and earthy hops.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Good looking beer has a beautiful amber color and pours with a thick creamy head. It has a mild aroma. It has a really nice smokey malt flavor and is easy to swallow.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured clear medium amber with an off white head. Aroma of bitter hops, caramel malt and some nuts. Medium body, flavour pretty much as the aroma. Nice and simple, but well done.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Goût de caramel, baies sauvages et de houblons floraux. Très gouteuse et rafraichissante. Beaucoup mieux que bien des ESB.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Bright red-amber with a tan head. The aroma is toasty, caramel, citrus fruits (hops). The flavour is lightly sweet, with toffee, orange and lemon. Faint but persisting bitterness. Well made.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Clear copper pour with a white head. Aromas of biscuit, caramel, and slight nuttiness. Flavor is similar with just a touch of bitterness in the finish. Very drinkable. Great example of the style.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a crystal clear dark copper/amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is malty and yeasty with a touch of candied dark fruit. Taste is nutty, toasty malt with a mild roasty bitterness at the end. The grassy hops flavor builds on the tongue as you drink but is minimal. Well balanced. Good carbonation. Love the 5.5 ABV. Rich, but not too rich.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Herbal, aged toffee, and salted cashew aroma. Flavors of toasted caramel, biscuits, ripe cherries, candied fruits, with a slight bitter finish. Easy drinking and a wonderful example of the style.
