COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Anvil ESB is our interpretation of a traditional British-style pub ale. Deep amber in color, a toasty character from British malts and a touch of kettle caramelization blend seamlessly with a mild English hop profile. Its delicate balance of flavors will keep you coming back pint after pint, making it a complex creation we’re proud to call our flagship beer.

From bomber, possibly outdated. Poured with an extremely thick, cloud-like head and deep orange-amber body. Aroma is very sweet caramel/molasses with vanilla and some breadiness. Flavor is biscuity, subtly bitter with a pale sweetness overriding it. Carbonation very high (seeing as it is bottle-conditioned, this may be an old batch). Albeit not very fresh, still very drinkable.

Aroma is nice roasted malts, with bread and caramel, nuts and some phenolic smoky notes, as well as earthy hops with a spicy zest and some citrusy notes. Medium body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is caramelised malts, with grain, bread, kandi, nuts and wood, as well as bitter hops, with spruce and zesty citrusy notes. Lingering grapefruity finish.
