COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Anvil ESB is our interpretation of a traditional British-style pub ale. Deep amber in color, a toasty character from British malts and a touch of kettle caramelization blend seamlessly with a mild English hop profile. Its delicate balance of flavors will keep you coming back pint after pint, making it a complex creation we’re proud to call our flagship beer.

Had this on draft at Tam O’Shantern in Glendale. Copper color and nice foam head. Smells of malt and some hops. Taste is malt caramel with a nice hop finish. A very good bitter style beer, very impressed.

Muted caramel and pine aroma, in equal proportions. Clear rust, thin yellow head. Nice malt and caramel interplay, fairly mild. Finishes a little woody. Medium to full body, easy carbonation. Well balanced, sessionable.

Mahogany toffee pour with a soapy off white head. Aroma is burnt toast, toffee and woody hop. Flavour is nice fruit and nut front end, bready caramel/toffee. Not overly sweet though. Light woody and slight resinous finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Excellent, of course. Nice malty backbone with just the right amount of hop bitterness, done in the English style and punched up a little with an American kick but not overdone. As with their other standards, really well balanced, excellent mouthfeel, quality ingredients.

Good looking beer has a beautiful amber color and pours with a thick creamy head. It has a mild aroma. It has a really nice smokey malt flavor and is easy to swallow all together

A terrific Americanized version of the English pub ESB. Lots of toffee, caramel and toast, with a hastening hop presence and some good warming notes.

Bottle. Lovely copper pour with a medium, foamy tan head. Lots of caramel, sweet malt, dark bready notes, light grassy hops, tea leaves and toffee. Taste is toasted malt, sweet malt, grains, caramel, light grass, tea leaves and dark bread. Body is medium and slightly chewy with a moderate, bubbly carbonation. Ends with more sweet malt, big caramel, toasted grains, dark bread and light grassy hops. Nice!

22 oz. bottle. Pours a clear copper color with a tight off white head that leaves a wispy film and collar. Aroma is English malt subtle spice caramel. Taste is spice bitterness and caramel malts nuttiness. Palate is clean thin slightly dry.
