COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bright copper color, sparkling clarity, and good foam retention when properly served. Appealing Brussels lace. Deep toasty/caramelly malt balanced by spicy/fruity hop flavors accented by fruit esters resulting from fermentation with a championship yeast strain. The aroma is subtle and reflects the flavor with malt, hop and fruit (ester)/fermentation characteristics. Smooth, medium-bodied. Easy drinking with no harsh or astringent sensations.

The aroma immediately reminded me of the milk caramels my mom makes around the holidays. Darkish malt backbone, dried fruit flavors and moderate, resinous hoppiness with little actual bitterness - more like a tangy, dry quality than bitter - malt and hops are extremely well balanced. Almost seems to me like some rye is in here given some of the flavors, though I highly doubt it. This beautiful redhead is of the most flavorful, complex beers under 6% I’ve had in a while.

Deep amber colour with a thick cream head. Sweet metallic aroma. Slightly burnt toffee notes from the kettle caramelisation followed by some well balanced piney, herbal bitterness. Rated by BrewTom

On draft. Copper color with one finger off white head. Earthy and caramel aroma. Taste is similar with a little hop. Very good ESB.

Poured a rich ruby hued copper with an offwhite head that left thick lacing. Aroma is dark fruits, sweet caramel and toffee malt, a hint of toast and floral hops. Flavor is a balanced mix of fruity caramel malts, toast with a faint hop presence. Medium bodied with present carbonation. Chewy bodied with minimal bitterness. Very enjoyable and sweet,

Tap at brewery. Pour clear copper with creamy white head. Aroma is caramel and cereal malts, floral hops, faint spice, and faint pear. Flavor is a delicious combination of lightly, caramel sweet malts aside smooth hop notes with a touch a dry, citrus peel. Medium body and carbonation.

Appearance was clear ruby amber with creamy off white diminishing 1/2 finger head, rings of lacing. Aromas are toast, nut, soft fruity esters with slight Maris otter malt sweetness, no alcohol. Taste are fruity esters upfront gives way to soft malt sweet middle. The soft woodsy, herbal, spicy hops are a good balance to a wonderful English water yeasty finish. Palate was smooth creamy CO2 with light-medium body, then a lasting balanced slightly dryish finish. Overall a stellar example of an ESB.

Bottled 650ml. -from Svijet Piva Zagreb. Fran’s bottle shared with Yves, Marko and me. Clear amber coloured, medium sized pale beige head, dry and dusty dog food nose (not so pleasant). The taste is much better; Toasted malt, caramel, dried fruits and touch of dog food with nutty notes in the finish. Not so sweet as I’ve expected. Ok beer.

Huge thanks to Fran for this! Poured a superb, lovely ruby/amber bod ywith a small off white head. Aroma... caramel, slightly woody, raisins, dust, light chocolate, nice really, but not thrilling. Taste... caramel, light dry dog food, vague herbal notes, sweetish maltiness... I didn’t like it much at first, but the superb, silky mouthfeel makes this one a grower... definitely a well executed beer, even if the style isn’t my favorite. Good job!
