On tap at the brewery. Pours a dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of lots of burnt toasted malt, dark chocolate, smoke, and meat. Taste is lighter, of burnt toasted malt, dark chocolate, and a hint of smoke. Lingering burnt smoke flavors. Very nice brown ale.

Draft at the brewery. Dark brown pour, with a light tan head. Toasted bread, sweetness, smoke, nuts, gritty coffee, and light chocolate. Very nice brown ale.

I had this on tap at Alesmith. Nice combination of smokey & chocolate with a nice mouthfeel and finish. Well done

Tap @ Alesmith. Dark pour with a tan head. Aroma is smoke with heavy chocolate/roast and underlying coffee. Taste is smoke with chocolate, bitterness, roast, nuts, and darker tart notes. Clean mouthfeel. I like it.

Tasted at brewery. Dark brown with red tints and dark tan big head. Nose is deep tart and lightly smoky malt. Taste is thick and rich. Deep tart hints and chocolate. Gooiness behind.

Taster at AleSmith. Pours dark brown with a medium brown creamy head and nice lacing. Aroma is smoke, wood, with something a bit odd that I can’t place. Flavor is about the same with light cocoa and nutty notes coming through. Full bodied and creamy in the mouth.

Dark brown in color with a khaki head. A slight smokiness on the nose along with some good roast, a bit of dark chocolate, and some toffee. A hint of ash and a bit of a wood note. Tastes mildly sweet of toffee and chocolate. Some hints of smoke, roasted malt, and a bit of coffee. A decent cocoa powder and ash flavor, too.
