UPDATED: MAY 14, 2010 (Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of madsberg. Pours a cloudy, dark, orangey brown with a small, off-white head. Distinct aroma of oak and bourbon. Quite full-bodied, extremely complex, lots of roasted malts, dried fruits - raisins in rum - and again these great bourbon accents. The finish is rather bitter. Very pleasant. 270607 Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Blindtasting. Pours a cloudy reddish brown with a rough off-white head. Sweet aroma of wood and vanilla. Medium body with burned caramel and plenty of Bourbon. Somewhat oxidized with a warming alcohol in the finish. 8/3/8/3/15=3.7 060510

Cloudy brown color. Caramel aroma, moderately sweet; malt. Good sweet caramel flavor, with hints of fudge and strong bitterness; a touch of vanilla oak too. Pleasant.

Bottle. Good vinous, slightly oxidised aroma. Hazy dark brown colour. Very small off-white head. The flavour has a good vanilla aroma, a bit oxidised. Acidic notes, like a red wine barrel. Quite sweet, but quite good. Good alcohol level, distinct, but balances the sweetness well. 838318

(750ml bottle, 2005 vintage, 268/280, courtesy of Walt) Pours a cloudy amber-brown body with a spare tan head. Aroma of wood, vanilla, cherry, bourbon, caramel, brown sugar, and figs. Flavor of vanilla, caramel, oak, light chocolate, toffee, and some fruit. An excellent old ale that I could easily drink regularly, if that was possible. Thanks Walt!
