UPDATED: MAY 14, 2010 (Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of madsberg. Pours a cloudy, dark, orangey brown with a small, off-white head. Distinct aroma of oak and bourbon. Quite full-bodied, extremely complex, lots of roasted malts, dried fruits - raisins in rum - and again these great bourbon accents. The finish is rather bitter. Very pleasant. 270607 Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Blindtasting. Pours a cloudy reddish brown with a rough off-white head. Sweet aroma of wood and vanilla. Medium body with burned caramel and plenty of Bourbon. Somewhat oxidized with a warming alcohol in the finish. 8/3/8/3/15=3.7 060510

4th October 2008. Bottle 186/280. Sharpish citrus woody flavours dominate a chocolate malt undertone. The oakyness is there throughout but (thankfully) doesn’t dry the beer out. Spirity finish with more sharpish citrus. Complex and tasty.

Cloudy brown color. Caramel aroma, moderately sweet; malt. Good sweet caramel flavor, with hints of fudge and strong bitterness; a touch of vanilla oak too. Pleasant.

Bottle at The Others Tasting, London - many, many thanks to Paul for sharing this rarity. Pours lightly foggy, caramel brown with a beige foam head that fizzes away promptly. Lots of ripe, semi-dark malts in the aroma, tangy cherries, prune. Medium to big sweet flavor, though not at all cloying, with brown sugar and plum. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish, still some mild bitterness after all these years, mellow earth, ripe fruits, rich brown bread, some modest age showing, toasted sugars and more ripe, darkened fruits. Delicious beer that has matured like Helen Mirren, if you know what I mean.
