Memory of taster @ the brewery. Very bourbon aroma and flavor, but not overwhelming. Rich and thick, the alcohol is cut by the everpresent bourbonosity. Woof!

2012 bottle sampled at Kurt’s Blarneywine tasting on 3/16/13. Clear copper pour with a medium tan head. Complex aroma of vanilla, caramel, toffee, chocolate, bread and bourbon. Malty flavor all the way through with accents of caramel and chocolate before a slightly warm bourbon finish. Outstanding.

Poured on draft from Brewery. Very dark amber with minimal white head. Sweet bourbon and fruit nose. Smooth vanilla, bourbon, and fruit taste along with carmel notes. This would be my favortie barleywine to date. Elite.

Bottled sample via and shared with oakbluff. Murky dark amber with low carbonation. Aromas are of muslix, light molasses, stewed fruit, and bourbon barrel. Very heavy pale malts in the mouth along with caramel malts, woody bourbon and whole wheat toast. Super chewy body. Solid, but a bit too heavy heavy for me.

Pours a dark amber color with light tan head. Aromas of caramel, vanilla, toffee with the same flavors coming through in addition to some oak and bourbon. Very good! One of the best ba barleywines I’ve had.

Yes sir this is damn good, 2012 vintage. Pours amber in the glass with very thin head. Aroma is perfect barleywine notes with caramel and alcohol then smooth malty notes. Flavor is awesome with minimal hops and great hints of barrel and caramel malts. Palate is thick and sticky and perfect. Overall this is right up my alley.

Nice. Getting bourbon up front. Really nice toffee back end. Just a tad too much alcohol heat. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle @ S&B#2. Pours clear amber with a minimal off-white head. Aroma is sweet with candy toffee, raisin, toasted malt, dried fruit, nut and some hops. Taste is medium + sweet and light bitter. Body medium, texture is syrupy, carbonation is soft. Finishes warming.
