Ughsmash (2814), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Jul 20, 2007 Updated: Oct 18, 2007 Bottle thanks to Chuck, 2004 #11 of 240. Poured a lovely shade of black with just a dusting of beige head.. loose ring of head and a mahogany glimmer in the light. Aroma was somewhat sour with rich chocolate and espresso.. warmth brings out some very wonderful stuff.. drier oak and some sort of liqueur that I can’t place, but love emerge.. lots of oak comes out, and this was some great stuff!
Flavor kicked it up a notch for me.. the roasted coffee is very well-accented by a wonderful barrel presence (bourbon, oak, and vanilla rock it well!).. drier oak and some almost smoked darker fruits ride through the long finish.. just a magnificent treatment from the barrel!! Warm and full-bodied on the palate.. integration of the barrel-aging was rock-solid.. just a touch sour, but great all-around!

( i think he’s missing a kidney at this point!). 2006 bottle # 193/233. pours just next to blacker than my soul with a creamy tan head and plenty of spotty lacing. aromas of fruit, light bourbon, milder coffee than regular version ( :-( = sad ), wood, warm and delicioso! if you ate a hershey kiss right after a swig of whiskey it would taste like this!... chocolate candy, nutty, coffee, wood, soft bourbon, really robustly roasted grain, mmm. big time aftertaste of of coffee and chocolate hangs onto the tongue. luscious mouth feel... slick and smooth. really hearty and warming... it makes me want to curl up and sleep ( after i’m done drinking it of course!)... Zinister (830), Houston, Texas, USA Jul 13, 2008 Thanks to thickfreakness for this 2006 bottle! Shared with MaltOMeal and thickfreakness. Pours a rich dark black color with a thick frothy deep mocha head. Nose was chocolate, coconut husk and toasted oak...wonderful. Flavor was a welcoming mix of rich chocolate, sublt oak notes and well integrated coconut flavors...and the mouthfeel is fantastic...thick and full coverage. This is truly fantastic, and the long lingering finish just makes this beer unbelievable. Thanks for sharing this Charles! Bockyhorsey (1914), Mesa, Arizona, USA Jul 8, 2008 Sampled at Bocky Bash on 7-5-08. Good bourbon and chcolate aroms somewhat mellow. Black body with tan head and good lacing. Good mix of bourbon, chocolate and coffee flavors without the alcohol presence I experienced with my first reg Speedway. That was good news for me. Thanks Eric. SuperDave70 (641), Arizona, USA Jul 7, 2008 Sampled at Bockyhorsey’s Bocky Bash on 7-5-08. Thank you for sharing this one Eric! Pours a deep black with a small creamy tan head that fades, but leaves some nice lacing. Aroma is dominated by by coffee and bourbon, with hints of dark chocolate and roasty malt. Lots of big coffee and bourbon flavor, along with roasted nutty malt, chocolate, and a touch of alcohol. Wonderful brew! Sparky27 (413), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Jul 7, 2008 2006 bottle #193 graciously provided by fiver29 to share at the 7/5/08 Bock Bash locals tasting. Pours a pitch black with tan head. Nose is bourbon, coffee, chocolate and roasted nuts. Taste is bourbon, roasted coffee beans, dry cocoa, dark fruits and some hops in the finish. Full, creamy mouth feel. Great brew – wouldn’t say it’s head and shoulders above the regular speedway (one of my favorites of all time), but very good in its own right. Thanks for allowing us the opportunity John!
