A huge big old thanks to Bert for sharing this baby! Bottle ? out of 234, wow! Poured a reddish dark brown color with a thin head that gave ok lacing. Aroma was of some peat, strong vinous and raisins, and plentiful oak qualities. Flavor was sherry, vinous, light chocolate (particularly as it warmed), strong raisins, light peat, and oak. Mouthfeel was really smooth, thinner than the non BA-aged, moderate overall mouthfeel. Warming effect in the swallow.

Shared by OhioDad at the Columbus tasting---Thanks so much Scott!!! This was the highlight of the tasting, and wasn’t a dissapointment at all. The pour was a nice deep, dark brown, with a faint head. The Aroma was full of brown sugar, vanilla, and oak.. The taste was hot, sweet, and full of a ton of malt, vanilla, and bourbon. I really liked the complexity of this beer.

2005 Bottle: Very dark amber color with an off-white head. Head quickly disappeared and left very little retention. Smell is boozy, caramel, toffee, and butterscotch. Taste has caramel, butterscotch, bourbon, smoke, dark fruits, and vanilla. Carbonation was light, body was medium. A very nice barrel aged beer. I’d love to drink this more regularly, but obviously it isn’t possible. Thanks to doubleo for the bottle!

bottle (2004 - bottle number smeared unfornately)....big thanks to Drewbeerme for sharing this special brew with us....appearance: dark caramel brown, thin dissipating white head with nice lacing qualities.....aroma: brown sugar, less prominent bourbon, toffee, and dark fruit....taste: roasted and smoky which supplemented the caramel, vanilla and bourbon qualities. a little boozy but still an awesome beer. one of my favorites of the night. very smooth and enjoyable.

Bottle big thanks to Fordest. The smell is alcohol, wood, fruits, oak, malts, raisans, plums, toffee. A lot going on. The look is cloudy, not too much head. red to brown in color. The taste is alcohol, bourbon, wood, raisans, fruits, sweet. Nice feel and finish.

750 ml bottle @ liquid sunshine tasting - thanks to ironchefscott for the trade; 2006 vintage, bottle #115/254; thin head compared to the regular that we opened side by side (thanks bruce); clear, dark brown; smooth, rich, intoxicating aromas; not unlike the regular version; caramel, scotch, oak and vanilla, very sweet and thinned out slightly compared to the regular version; lots of wood; not blown away as i have been by the BA numbskull and decadence; i love the regular version so much, that i’d say i fall on the side of the fence that while amazing, this was not really an improvement

Bottle. Dark, clear and glossy. Nose of Brandy. Bitter, taste of brandy, dark roasted malts. Good one. I would recommend.

Clear brown body. Coffee bean and dark sugary rum in aroma. Sweet fruity flavor - apple, pear, chocolate, light maple wood, and a solid core of milky-sweet dark caramel malt. A touch of alcohol in the finish but it’s complimentary to the sweet start. Velvety mouthfeel. A mature, well-blended, malty brew. Good stuff!
