75cl bottle. Trade. Thanks Chris. Pours pitch black with a small creamy brown head. Nose is roasted malts - toffee, caramel, chocolate & coffee. Silky smooth palate. Bitter long roasted aftertaste. Pleasant warmth from alcohol. A heavy Imp. Porter. Yummi!

Pours dark black with a small brown/tan head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee and malt. Flavor is similar: chocolate, coffee and alcohol. The alcohol is mellow and nice, not really overwhelming. Very much like an Imperial Stout but with a thinner body and less intense flavors/aromas.

Magnum supplied by Stefanje in trade. After consuming this, I am truly in his debt. This was my first Alesmith brew, seems they know which end is up at that brewery. This bottle lasted a good two and a half hours. From cement mixing, thru dinner and finished with my neighbor Rod (yes, he got some too) sitting on the porch and watching the clouds go by. Pours like black silk. Dense tan head that settles and sprouts four lilly pads of carbonation. Photon eating brew allows no light thru the Chimay snifter. Full bodied and rich, dark chocolate and just a skoash of creamy coffee. Hops compliment last 80% of mouthfeel to finish. A touch of licorice booziness near finish helps this one on its way. I feel ashamed that I did not keep this baby in the cellar. If I were to ever have the chance to cellar another, I would coddle it as if it were my own child.

Thanks Mr_Stitch for sharing this one! A delicious American strong except for the licorice taste. Aroma was dark coffee, black licorice and roasted malt. Pour was a deep brown with a one finger tan head. Taste was very full and rich. Strong licorice and burnt malt in the front with a hint of dark fruit and bitter roastiness in the aftertaste. Thick chewy mouthfeel. Would taste great on a cold winter night.

750ml bottle. Pours brownish with thick white creamy head, I thought it would be darker. Somewhat light on the palate, very malty, very creamy and smooth, feels like velvet in your mouth. Goes down very easy for 10%. Thick lingering aftertatse of roasted malts. I tought this beer would be a little more in your face but it is still great and will prob improve with age.

[1368-20080517] 750mL bottle. Roast malt aroma has a nice dark fruity boozy nose. Clear, dark brown body with a medium-lasting creamy light tan head. Dark roasty malt flavour begins burnt and continues fruitily. Full body. Interesting, like "someone threw a match in it." (8/4/7/3/15) 3.7

Overheard: "If anyone has a problem with my homeboy, I’ll pick ’em up and throw ’em in the crevices of his nose."

[1515B-20080711] 750mL bottle. Caramelized chocolate-covered cocoa beans with a hint of roast beef. Dark dark brown body with a medium-lasting foamy tan head. Dark roasted chocolate powdered bandaid flavour. Full body. Quite good. (9/3/7/3/15) 3.7

Bottle. Black with an impressive creamy tan head. Smokey chocolate malt with just a little bit of hops in the aroma. Flavor was smokey sweet. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, with a moderate aftertaste that is only slightly bitter. Great while smoking a cigar.
