Mild spiced and roasted malty aroma. Chocolate and hardroasted malty flavoured with a distinct acidic note showing through. [Tasting session @ Papsoe, 31-10-2008] large lovely looking foamy head that mostly lasted. Good display of lacework. Dark mahogany color. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, nuts, dried fruit. Over the palate came heavy roasted malt, sweet chocolate and coffee. Quite smooth even do it was complex and strong over the palate. Full bodied with an average carbonation, thick mild alcoholic texture. Heavy sweet flavor with good counter bitterness. Strong sweet chocolate and roasted malty finish with an everlasting duration. Tasted like dark chocolate cake and hints of dark fruit. Silky smooth for the mouthfeel. Perfect price at $10.99 a bottle, and should age quite nicely.
