Bought at the brewery today, one of my bottles, not my girlfriend’s but shared with her. I’ve been waiting with baited breath for this beer. Beautifal Pour, black with a 2 and half finger tan head. Nose is sweet and chocolatly with lots of big malt. Wow, sweet, choco malts and some bitterness on the backend. Extremely smooth, very very drinkable, alc is completely hidden. Aftertaste is really nice and big and keeps malt on the back of my mouth. This did not disappoint one bit. It is a damn good beer and I’m glad to wish Alesmith congrats on another year with this beer and keep up the good work with the expansion. daknole (3032), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Sep 12, 2008 Bottle from PNW. Thick dark ale with a light but lasting brown creamy head. Strong dark malty aroma; thick like a woolen coat. Chocolate with hints of molasses. Starts out like chocolate syrup, thins out as alcohol kicks in. Smooth chocolate liqueur beer. Bitter chocolate, tasty, alcohol settles down after that first sip. BMan1113VR (2980), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jul 1, 2008 Pours with a large, foamy, light brown head, very dark brown body. Aroma of plums, rum soaked raisins, chocolate, and cocoa powder. Extremely mouth coating feeling...very, very syrupy. Very sweet and chocolatey up front with some sticky toffee too. A bit of bitter coffee rounds out the finish. Amazingly good desert drink (goes well with vanilla ice cream, and tastes amazing as a float). As a side note, I am going to go buy a bottle tomorrow and age it for about 4.5 years, to make a killer winter desert treat. bb (2976), Martinez, California, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 6, 2008 Grain flavor and aroma. Malt in the flavor and aroma, a little chocolate, raisins and alcohol. The grain and bitter hops make this bitter overall. A well made beer but I’m not really into the flavor.
