Bottle (750ml). Shared by blankboy with =gregclow, jerc, mabel & tupalev. Deep amber-brown pour, slightly muddy-looking, large creamy tan head - mmmmm. Slightly lactic aroma of lush cocoa, heavy roast, funky, yeastiness moderate alcohol - damn nice. Taste - same, slightly more bitter from hop finishing - slick, slightly thin, nicely acidic - long roasty, increasingly alcoholic finish. God that’s good. Thanks, Paul!

750 ml. Black body with deep brown highlights with a frothy tan head, slowly diminishing. Chocolate aroma with notes of roasted malt, coffee, alcohol, licorice, toffee. The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, moderately bitter and lightly acidic. It finishes moderately sweet, moderately to heavily bitter and lightly to moderately acidic. Medium to full body, creamy texture and lively carbonation. Starts creamy and sweet with tastes of chocolate, caramel and vanilla, but finishes with a lingering bitterness and notes of licorice. Alcohol warming. Nicely done, though a little too sweet in the beginning, perhaps a result of having aged it.

Bottle courtesy Quake1028. Pours very dark brown with a small tan head that leaves good lacing. Strong aroma of roasted malt, coffee, licorice, and light ash. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium full mouthfeel with a mild to moderate amount of bitterness and well hidden alcohol. Very Good.

With thanks to HogTownHarry. Appearance: Pitch black with a nice large pancake mix head. Aroma: Chocolate, latte, raisins, hops, yeast and a tiny hint of alcohol. Deliciously creamy. Flavour: Glorious, peat - like an Irish pub, coffee, bourbon, malty and quite hoppy, chocolatey and a creamy mouth feel with a long wood/coffee finish.

Bottle. Thaks to cbkschubert for the generous bottle he sent! Poured a adark black body with thin head. Aroma was a beautiful boquite of vanilla, choclate and a small amount of hops. Flavor is dark chocolate, hops and velvet. Very smooth.

pour a deep black with just a slight amount of light coming through near the top, with a bubbly beige head. Aroma if big on milk chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, and some molasses. Flavor is quite nice, this reminds me alot of an imperial stout, but minus the booziness, and the thick mouthfeel, and over the top sweetness. The mouthfeel is perfect not too thick, not too thin. The alcohol is nowhere to be found. This is dangerously drinkable! Lots of great roasted malt flavors, mixed with coffee, and milk chocolate, with touches of molasses, and even a little borwn sugar. Really a quality beer.

Bottled. Big thick chewy mother of a head on this puppy. Killer aroma, nice and malty. The flavor is precisely what I need on this cool (ridiculously cool) May afternoon. I’m enjoying this while playing my guitar. Full bodied flavor, warms my innards as it goes down and it coats my tongue with chocolatey caramel deliciousness. Me likey.

Appearance: Pours a very dark brown body with a thin, wispy, beige head. Smell: Aroma led by a distinct roastiness and a scent of used espresso grinds with accompanying notes of melted dark chocolate, star anise, and touch of booze. Taste: Rich dark maltiness with a potent taste of grains, dark chocolate ice cream topping, black licorice extract, and quad-shot of espresso. And, yes, there is a decadent sweetness on-hand. This is counteracted somewhat by an earthy, roasty bitterness. Splash of a beefy cabernet. Further lingering tastes of dark chocolate and roast on the finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-full body. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: Uncommonly delightful! One of those 750ml bottles you can cheerfully finish by yourself in one short sitting.
