Poured an opaque black color with a medium sized, tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts, light smoke, dark fruits, nuts, and wood. Taste was chocolate up front, with roast, more smoke, light anise, light caramel, nuts, and a lower alcohol presence. Thanks Josh!

750 ml bottle from BevMo LaJolla. Pours thick brown, opaque with slight hints of ruby when held to light and a foamy tan head. Rich aroma of roasty malts, molasses, bakers chocolate, alcohol, hints of soy sauce, along with floral and herbal notes. Flavor is also rich and roasty, more of the dark, bitter chocolate and molasses, warming alcohol, fudge sauce and a little astringent herbiness in the finish. Full body, smooth on the tongue with mild carbonation.

Tasting at Papsoe
Black color. Very solid brew, strong body, good chocolate flavor (the aroma is simpler), sweet enough, touch of roasted malt, good hopping, strong bitterness and pleasant warming alcohol; powerful. The final has also some roasted nuts Very good.

Bottle. Mahogony beer with a brown/tan head. Chocolate and nice malt aroma. Chocolate and nice balancing malt flavor. Medium-plus bodied. Chocolate, light roast, and rich malt linger. Nice complexity. Very good.

Pours a nearly opaque black with a stringy-lacing tan head. Aroma of sweet sugary dark caramel and chocolate with some plum character. Body starts with good thickness and sweet sticky dark malts with plenty of dark chocolatey notes. Finishes silky smooth with some warmth and lingering dark chocolate character. A pretty good imperial porter that should age well.

Poured brown with a tan head. The flavor was fairly roasty with nice chocolate notes. The flavor was smooth with the alcohol mostly hidden other than the warmth. Nice roasted aroma. Medium body.

Viscous pour nets you a medium sized choco brown head, retention and lace are good. An almost black bodied brew cept for a little red glow at the sides of yer glass. Nose is chocolate, caramel some cocoa and a whisp of alcohol. Creamy and coating on the palate, med/full body, soft carbonation. A blend of flavors, chocolate, cocoa, light berrys, caramel, vanilla and roast, some dark fruits as well. eaglefan mentioned something about a house yeast flavor and i tend to agree with him, it,s a good thing. Some alc notes hanging around also. Lasting dark finish, slick. Props to the amazing SDbruboy for the bottle. Thanks Cliff!
