Commercial Description:
The third offering in our series of Decadence Anniversary Ales, is a big, rich Imperial Porter. Brewed to the parameters of a classic Porter, Decadence 2007 has the intense aromas of dark malt and chocolate complimented by a lusciously smooth mouthfeel. Bottle from brewery. Very dark in color. Roasty coffee aromas. Some alcohol is present. Big roasted malt/coffee flavors. Very rich and smooth. Decent bitterness. Burnt coffee finish. A hint of alcohol in the finish. Very smooth and drinkable. Tastes like an impy stout to me.

Pours with a black body topped by a medium thick, light brown head with a good amount of lacing. It’s slighlty sweet with roasted coffee and bitter sweet chocolate notes as well as an underlying malt note and alcohol esters. Full Bodied, warming and a touch dry.

Shared with AlexsDad, Tmoney and shigadeyo. Alesmith has always done well with English/American ales and this one is no exception. It is one of the better porters I’ve had in a long time. Dark brown almost stoutish in color. Smooth well integrated flavors of chocolate and roast(mostly). Light on sweetness, a bit dry(alcohol) on the finish.

Poured an opaque black color with a medium sized, tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts, light smoke, dark fruits, nuts, and wood. Taste was chocolate up front, with roast, more smoke, light anise, light caramel, nuts, and a lower alcohol presence. Thanks Josh!

Bottle from shegadeyo. Pours dark reddish/brown with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Heavy complex roasted coffee, chocolate, vanilla and alcohol aroma. Medium to full body with a dry smooth texture. Heavy Belgian chocolatte bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of long duration. This is a standout brew.

Rating # 900. Thanks Ross for sharing. Pours out a black color with a dark brown head. aroma is rich and sweet with a nice balance of malt. Flavor was choco and coffee with some sweetness to it. As i drank this brew, the the high abv started to show its face. Over all a very nice brew indeed. Ale Smith never seems to let me down
