Rogueone (372), I F&ckin’ hate those guys from, Ohio, USA May 5, 2008 Pours a deep, deep mahogany with a dark and creamy tan head. Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate. Very smooth, tastes like toasted malt, strong chocolate, and alcoholic bite that does not detract from the beer. Yum.
dkachur (905), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Oct 12, 2008 750 mL from stefanje’s AWESOME summer secret santa shipment. Deep, dark reddish brown pour with a medium head that fades to a thin disc atop the beer. Rich chocolate aroma with notes of alcohol, dark fruits and coconut. Taste is roasted malts, espresso, chocolate, dark fruits, some hop notes and warming alcohol. Full bodied and quite nice. A worthy 900th rating. Thanks Stefan! The_Epeeist (984), Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 11, 2008 25.4 oz bottle. Dark brown with a spongy tan head; slowly settles leaving thick lace and crema. Nose is coffee, rich cocoa and smoky raisin. Starts with a hot blast of alcohol, like a chocolate liqueur. Smooths out with warming, a touch of carb. Taste is espresso, dark chocolate, prunes and dates. A most assertive porter; i like it. kkearn (690), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 9, 2008 Bottle. Pours deep brown, capped with a huge brown head. Aroma of tootsie rolls, vanilla, chocolate, and brown sugar. Bittersweet chocolate hits the palate first, which is soon joined by vanilla, coffee, and roasted malt. Some warming alcohol joins roasted chocolate malt for a long finish. Silky smooth and very drinkable. Nice. nqualls (422), Tennessee, USA Oct 3, 2008 Bottle. Poured a dark brown with a dense brown head. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla and brown sugar. Flavor reflects the aroma, with a hint of coffee and warming alcohol that is only slightly apparent.
