The third offering in our series of Decadence Anniversary Ales, is a big, rich Imperial Porter. Brewed to the parameters of a classic Porter, Decadence 2007 has the intense aromas of dark malt and chocolate complimented by a lusciously smooth mouthfeel. The flavor is rich and malty, and balanced with just the right amount of English East Kent Goldings hops. The aftertaste will leave you pining for more, so donít miss out on this release of Decadence 2007. Once itís gone, itís gone!

Naka (708) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 2, 2013
Pours extrememly dark brown / black with a fluffy light tan head that doesnít last for too long. Aroma of raisins, molasses, prunes, and some gummi bears. Flavor is roasty chocolate and caramel goodness. Very huge warming alcohol flavor. A little coffee and a nice bitterness, too. Seems bitter and dry on the tongue. The huge flavors make me want to rate it lower on the palate, because it tastes like it should be an Imperial Stout. Really exceptional beer.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a beige head of foam. The aroma is earthy sweet, chocolate, molasses. Tastes is big sweet. Thick body and mouthfeel. Low carbonation.

Tasting at Jackís RAH Annexe! Thanks to Paul for this blast from the past. Almost opaque dark brown beer, small bubbly pale tan head. Palate is light. Oxidised malts, some caramel. Touches of dry cream and dark chocolate. Archeological fragment of hop. Light dry finish. Clearly aged but not bad.

Bottle at Chateau Jackl, big thanks to Da Croydon Hustler, 13/08/14. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a moderate tan swirl and covering. Nose carries light oxidisation but this is forgiveable as toffe fudge, fig infused dark fruits and light roast overpower this immediately balanced with woody notes and an earthy pitch. Taste comprises earthy vibes, cocoa powder, dark fruit rinds, dates, rich fruit cake, chocolate, musty pang. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light booze trace. Decent stuff for 7 years old and the alcohol (has either dipped and/or) is well integrated!

Bottle shared in London - big thanks to Paul for this geriatric. Pours rich brown with a creamy tan head. The nose has some oxidized dark malts, cocoa, roast, dark fruits. Medium to big sweet flavor, some scorched earth, dark cherries, light coffee, baking cocoa, currants. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly warming on the finish, some raisins, black currants, earth, toasty bread, mellow grain husk, cocoa. Well nuanced. Very nice.

Bottle, cheers to Scopey for the pour! Slightly soupy deep brown with a small tan head. Brownie mix. Toasted coconut and a bit of cinnamon butter. Roasted dark malts. The taste has a pretty woody character. Dark roasted coffee. Brown sugar. Dark forest fruits. Hints of blue cheese and walnut. Full body, prickly carb. This has held up well.

Bottle shared at JackLís.... It pours near black with a small tan head. The nose is rich, earthy, light oxidation, must, fig, cocoa, dark chocolate, light toast and rocky road. The taste is toasty, roast, wood, earth, must, booze, chewy, dark chocolate, chocolate cake and alcohol warmth with a dry, woody finish. Fullish body and fine carbonation. Aged for sure, but pretty well-rounded.

Bottle @ a recent bottle share... Poured deep, dark black with a thin head. This tasted great with minimal oxidation. Smooth mocha, cocoa notes with some malt sweetness and some warmth. But overall the ABV was well masked in this beer. If you have a bottle of this open it now! itís tasting very good.

Traded bottle. Normal dark looking porter with a thin brown head. Aroma seems sweet and with a hint of dark fruit plus a little coffee and chocolate. Flavor is more of the coffee and chocolate with some lingering espresso bitterness and a little warming booze. Still nice 7 years later.

Bottle thanks to Sparky! Pours a deep black in color with a thin to minimal tan head. Aroma is chocolate, dark fruit and roasted malt. Taste is disappointing: roasted coffee, malt, bitter chocolates and some mild dark fruit. Flat on the palate. Decent offering but the barrel aged version wins over this.

Pours dark unclear crimson roasted chestnut with a beige head and decent lacing. Aroma brings rich roasted dark chocolate and sweet roasted malts. Flavor bring rich roasted chocolate malt flavors with a fantastic aftertaste of coffee and sweet malts. Well aged for 6 years! Wow!
