COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
AleSmith Decadence is a dark Weizenbock featuring malted wheat and a unique German yeast. A complex blend of rich, dark fruit flavors and a yeast derived spiciness create a deliciously balanced beer. Dark ruby hues and smooth full-bodied mouthfeel are highlighted in this classic Bavarian style.

Wow. This one has aged a year, and is aging very nicely. Pours hazy brown with an off-white head. Nose is bananas foster, caramel, some sugar and goodness. Flavor is similar with caramel, bananas, and some yeast. Very unique, excellent weizen bock.

Courtesy of markwise. 750mL pours murky brown with tan head. The aroma is rich and pulsing with prunes and blueberries as well as lesser notes of brown sugar and a touch of spicy yeastiness. The taste is velvety smooth and rich with notes of prunes, blueberries and a thin layer of boysenberry preserves with faint amounts of yeasty spices softly lining the rim of the flavor experience. It ends as smooth as it began with dark fruity richness and pillowy goodness.

750 ml bottle a gift from footbalm! Thanks Eric! My rating #3000! Nose of rich ripe bananas, clovey, cinnamon wheat bread, vanilla hints, and yeasty goodness. Really rich and fruity. Hazy brown with a medium, glassing, beige head. Flavor is light banana cake, hints of toffee, and hazelnuts, and lots of caramel. Excellent (see scores) Wish I had gone down and gotten a case of bottles!

The beer pours to a deep ruby body with a really dense silk looking off-white/tan head. Nice spotty lacing. The aroma is sweet banana and dusty chocolate bread. The flavor is a deep banana bread weizen bock. Light chocolate chips in a banana bread. The palate is robust, medium bodied, velvety.

Thanks to Blake for bringing the 750mL bottle! Poured deep garnety-amber with a dense, tight-bubbled beige head. The aroma picked up sweeter chocolate-covered bananas, a touch of oats, and vanilla upfront.. more and more banana (both raw and shake-like).. fairly sweet, but perfectly balanced. The flavor found more banana plus chocolate the whole way through.. light roast to it, but mostly sweet.. tart wheat and more banana sweetness through the finish. Medium-bodied and well carbonated on the palate.. a touch of prickly alcohol on the back.. great balance. Very good stuff.

Aroma is banana peel and chocolate and strong alcohol smell. Appearance is a brownish mahogany with a thin brown head. Taste is similar to the smell which is like banana nut bread. Good carbonation medium body, awesome beer must try.

UPDATED: SEP 27, 2010 Bottle. Pours a mahogany brown red with a slight tan head. The nose reminds me totally of banana runts almost covered with caramel! Smells so sweet. Not as malty as I thought it would be upon my first sip. Tastes like banana and caramel and now that I think that, it is all that I am tasting. Ends with an odd taste in the end. Medium mouthfeel. Overall, probably not my most favorite style and not something I could drink a ton of but decent overall.

Big thanks to trevor211 for saving this one for my return to Seattle. Darkest lager pour, thin head. Huge banana bread nose which warms to include some sweet raspberry. Touch spicy but rounds dark lager. Full but missing some body. Finishes dry with some lingering banana and fruity. sugar and sweet.

Deep brown pour with a nice tint of mahogany and a creamy sticky white head. The nose has a lot of heavy toasted malt. A little bit of clove and a bit of dark cocoa in addition to the heavy smokiness. Fairly pronounced fruitiness on the back of the palate. Rich and malty with a little bit of nuttiness as well. There is something fairly nice about the beer, but there is also something that is not quite right. Very spicy and there is a bit of a rye-like character throughout as well. Very rich and quite softly carbonated, I feel like it could be better.

Clear mahogany with a medium beige creamy head. Fruity aroma with roasted malt and caramel. Sweet flavour with roasted malt, caramel and ripe fruits. Straight forward and it finished sweet.
