(750ml bottle). Pours a dark amber color with sticky tan lacing. Aroma is savory smoke, dark fruits, maple. Taste is smoke first then the sweetness of the barleywine and the smoke creeping back again. Some bitterness as well. Medium bodied and sticky. A little bit of alcohol warmth and the bitterness hit at the finish. As it warms, it definitely comes together nicely. Well balanced. Another tasty brew from Alesmith.

750ml bottle shared by BeerandBlues2: pours a clear deep copper amber with a spotty-lacing white head. Has a sweet toasty caramel malty nose with a touch of light fruits. Starts with pretty good fullness and chewy dark caramel malts with a touch of maple and dry bittering hops before a toasty bittersweet finish. Could use some time to age.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with a medium, frothy white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is maple, light smoke, caramel and cookie malt, dates and candied fruits, oak, pine and spicy hops. Flavor is malt dominant, smoke and oak, maple, sweet fruity esters and a dry finish. Full body, high warmth and medium carbonation.

Bottle. Pours mostly clear amber/ruby, with thin, creamy off-white head; short retention and minimal lacing. Aroma is figs, cherries, brown sugar, cookie malt, molasses, and floral hops. Flavor is balanced malt and fruit esters with faint hops; dry, semi-sweet finish. Medium body and carbonation with high warmth.

750mL thanks to beerandblues2. Clear red to ruby with a larger yellowish head. Big lacing. Sweeter maple nose with smoked bacon. Taste is sweeter, rich, stickier, with mild paper and astringency. Palate is a bit papery and tannic.

Bottle shared by Armin! Hazy brownish red pour, ring of carbonation and an aroma of smoke and a little maple. Flavor is slightly smoked malt, scotch, oaky and an aftertaste of peat. Solid, very enjoyable.

Bottle. It pours a dark orange/amber color with a cream colored head. The aroma is very sweet with lots of brown sugar, applewood smoked bacon, hints of cherry, raisins and maple syrup. The flavor is very fruity and sweet with maple syrup, plums, strong alcohol burn with some noticeable spicy hops. Not as smoky in the flavor, but it’s definitely there. More like smoked wood, only without the roasted malt. Pretty hot, but a good sipper.

Bottle. Pours dark amber with a tight soapy off white head that fades to a wispy film. Aroma is smokey peat and faint caramel. Taste is strong smokey peat and caramel with warming finish. Palate is full and slick with a sticky dry finish.

Dark copper pour with slight tan head. Lots of lacing. Light toffee and caramel, mostly smoke nose. Smoke smacks you on the face. Just hints of maple. Changes as it warms, don't drink this cold! Pretty good, if you like complex but not sweet barley wines, you will like this.

Pour out of 750 mL bottle thanks to dak for the pour! Dark reddish brown pour with nice lasting off white head, nice tight bubbles. Aroma brought notes of maple, sweet caramel, toffee, hints of smoke and bacon notes, touch of slight biscuit as well, a bit nondescript. Taste is sweet maple, slight caramel and toffee notes, hints of slight smoke but really limited, touch of dark fruits finishes fairly sweet. Surprised at the lack of smoke in there, but this will age well for sure.
