Each Halloween we release this special concoction to celebrate one of our favorite holidays. Deep blood-red in color, an intense aroma of pine and citrus from an abundance of American hops balances the sweetness and rich, bready flavors of this beer’s caramel malts. The result is a fiendishly smooth brew that will make your taste buds scream with delight.

650ml bottle from Binny’s in Highland Park. Pours reddish orange with a tan-orange head leaving some spotty lacing. Aroma hits immediately with citrus and pine, then stone fruits and caramel kick in. Taste is of sweet caramel malts, tangy pine, some grapefruit, some stone fruits and chewy resin. Medium bodied with some alcohol presence. Finishes tangy fruity and piney, with a nice sweet blend, and some length. Much more a stereotypical "American Strong" ale than an amber. Sure seems that the same was said in February for My Bloody Valentine - are they different recipes? Both are quite good. 14.5

A very nice well balanced red. Pours a beautiful clear red with a tan head. Smells of pine, grapefruit, vanilla. Taste is similar, lots of vanilla balanced by some nice hops. Had in the bottle.
