3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
I crack the bottle and the aroma is right there with a heavy scent of light pine and bread. From the neck flows a ruby-brown liquid supporting a fat, off-white, and dense, rocky foam that covers the brew two fingers deep.
I’m experiencing a lightly bitter, medium texture brew with a fairly heavy palate, moderately carbonated with a long, dry and de minimis finish. The caramel malt fills my taste buds with sweet, but is tapered by the stabilizing bitter of a nice hops balance.
This is a good red ale, I’m enjoying the heck out of it and would definitely pick it up again.
