3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 fonefan (24928) - VestJylland, DENMARK - MAR 8, 2010
Bottle 75cl. @ home. Light unclear medium red orange - amber color with a small, fizzy, virtually none lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, vintage, dried berry, prune, light chocolate, moderate yeasty. Flavor is light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat, finish feel is light to moderate alcoholic. [20100208]
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20 Ungstrup (23917) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - AUG 29, 2004
[Vintage 2003, sampled July 2004] A hazy bourgundy colored beer with a fine dark beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of alcohol, caramel, and peach. The flavor contains strong notes of alcohol, that runs over the tongue, but also notes of roasted malt, caramel, prunes, and overripe plums. To my surprise the body is thin - weird for a beer of 10.6% ABV. This one will probably mature and get better.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Papsoe (22946) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JAN 17, 2006
(Bottle 75 cl) 10% ABV in my version. Ruby red with a small, white head. Complex, vinous, sweetish aroma. Very full-bodied with sweet port-like notes and some fruit. Appears a bit too sweet - actually a bit cloying. Very limited bitterness. 160106

75 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a lacing off-white head. Aroma is dusty and somewhat ashtray like, tobacco. Flavour is softly sweetend with a slight note of dried fruit. Softly sweet and not overly so. Ends with a warming alcohol finish.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 omhper (15956) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUL 28, 2004
Bottled. Nut brown, clear. Aroma of molasses. Sweet, rich and very malt. There are some chocolate and a apeppery sensation from all the alcohol.
Salty finish. There are some really big flavours here, but I wouldn’t call it complex - which of course doesn’t mean that it is not a really good beer.

dark chocolate brown, whispy head, sweet candy carmel malt flavor, rich malt flavor, mostly dry, needs more depth and complexity, a bit too light for age to help a lot
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 fiulijn (10383) - Como, ITALY - APR 6, 2011
Bottle from Ørsted; 10% ABV Mahogany color, dark, with small sized creamy head. Nice aroma of caramel, mature, with a light scent of dark fruits, vanilla and wood. Bold structure; strong caramel and malt flavor, quite sweet, with a light fruitiness and some late liquorice; low bitterness; in the final the alcohol warmth is clearly perceived (maybe too much). Similar to many common Strong Ales from Belgium, nothing spectacular, but a solid brew indeed.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 KimJohansen (10340) - Copenhagen V, DENMARK - DEC 30, 2008
Dark mahogany with a medium off white head. Flavour was sweet with caramel notes, hops, malt and hoppy notes that gave it a bitter finish.
