75cl bottle from 2006. Deep amber pour. Sweet aroma of sugary malts and alcohol. Smooth mouthfeel with warm flavors of toffee, caramel, and dark fruits. Just too much sweetness in this one and not enough complexity for my liking

750mL bottle pours a deep amber almost brown, smells of applesauce and spice, some sweet caramel notes linger on the taste with a bit of bread crust in the finish. Solid beer but not my favorite from Alesmith

On tap at Stubbys. Clear copper with a thin white head. Aroma of cherries, oak, toffee, sweet malt and fruit. Tastes like liqueur/amaretto with fruit, oak, toffee and is overly cloying and unbalanced almost to the point that I donít even want to drink it.

I think I got it at Jimbos. Itís a cold foggy night. In an American pint glass. Smells like a real Belgium beer. Reddish color? Complex flavor. Tastes like a Belgium triple that I really like but canít place. St Bernardus 12 mixed with a little McChouffe. Really nice and thick in a good way.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
2006 vintage- pours mahogany with a ruby undertone. Excellent clarity and small lacing and virtually no head. Nose- apple juice, raisins, burnt sugar. Taste- syrupy caramel, dark fruits and yeasty phenols. Overall the flavour profile is flabby likely due to oxidation. very low carbonation. Dry mineral finish.

Hazy dark toffee brown beer with a beige head. Raisins, sherry and sour red berries on the nose. Very interesting taste. Lingonberries with only slight sourness, sweet bread, toffee, yeast, ice latte. Medium body. An excellent ale with a unique twist.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Refrigerated 75 cl brown bottle poured into a trappist glass. Pours translucent dark/medium brown with big beige head which dissipates fairly quickly. Rich dark fruit aroma, medium body, medium carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is rich dark fruit (mostly fig), dark candy sugar, caramel, some alcohol, and some hop bitterness in the finish. Good beer, but not a favorite.

Dark no head. Aroma is classic belgian features (yeast, sugar, malt). Taste is sweet, rich dark fruits. Yeasty but not great depth. Thin. Overall, not a beer I loved, but very drinkable.
