COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is the AleSmith incarnation of a Belgian Strong Ale. Horny Devil is an authentic Belgian Style ale, from the Belgian candi sugar right down to the yeast, a Belgian strain from a Trappist monastery in Belgium. In addition to the malts, candi sugar and fresh hops, there is also a little added twist from coriander seeds, which impart a refreshing citrus flavor to an outstanding ale. Belgian ale lovers around the world have raved about Horny Devil, and you will too.

DWF; Pours hazy golden with a deminishing white to off-white head. Nose is malty, yeasty, fruity, sour, citrusy and coriander spicy. Taste is sweet and sour. Lasting spicy and bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is crispy. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

750ml bottle from Sonoma Cellars with a 7/16/13 bottle date, cellar aged for 6 months. Pours a hazy orange/copper with just a touch of a white head that disappears. Aroma has candied sugars, fruits, a number of yeast-y spices and rum raisin. Taste is of sweet candied fruits, strong spicy-ness (coriander, cardamon), blueberries and other light fruits, heavy malts and tangy yeast. Very lowly carbonated and quite sweet. With alcohol. Light to medium bodied and syrupy. Finishes very sweet and long, with alcohol. A tasty interesting layered drink, not in a style I enjoy. Someone mentioned Duvel crossed with ?? (cinammon schnapps?) That is the palate and consistency. Too complex in that style for my palate at this point.

Bottle. Hazy yellow, medium sized diminishing head. Lots of coriander, grain, candy, sugar, warming alcohol. A bit sticky. Medium body, fruit syrup texture, medium carbonation. Not very refined, coriander and sugar, and why the hell make something like this? At least there is lots of alcohol to keep me pacified.

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Poured a golden yellow/orange with a thick white head. Great lacing. Nose has pineapple, tart apples and citric funk. Cloves and coriander are slightly evident too. Very fruit driven smell! Taste is all about the spices - cloves, pepper and coriander combining with the resinous pine finish. Earthy dry bitterness rounds it off. Booze hidden, alesmith clearly know their shit. Great stuff..

Boozy aroma, with citrus, a little tart apple, and some caramel malt. Flavor starts sweet and bready, with some dark fruit and spice. Spice, fruit bitterness, and drying alcohol in the finish. Outstanding.

Tap at Malt House. Filtered orange body. Creamy white head laces the glass. Fruity, tangy yeast undertones. Mellow noble hop presence. Really smooth, fresh, drinkable. Almost some bock like notes, rich golden malt tones. Very nice, well done. Bock meets Duvel. Flowery hoppy alcohol soaked sweetness.

Bomber. Pours a golden yellow with a slight white head. Citrus, coriander, yeast dominate. Very dry with an excellent finish. No flavors overwhelm. Is close to excellent but falls just a little short. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle thanks to Matt, lingering around 5 years old. Clear deep golden pour with a frothy white head. Real spicy aroma, coriander, black pepper, cloves, yeast, sweet light maltiness and honey. Sweet bubblegum flavor with lots of spices and sweet light maltiness in the flavor. No trace of alcohol and god carbonation. Nice stuff.

Very solid and full-bodied. The flavors are a sweet blend of orange, banana, coriander that are very smooth on the tongue.

0.7 l bottle. Light amber with a medium white head. Peach, pineapple and caramel aroma. Very fruity flavour, peach and sweetness from the malts. Nice warming mouthfeel, and a medium body which lingers for a while. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
