COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Horny Devil is our interpretation of a Belgian-style Golden Ale. Brewed with authentic Belgian ingredients including candi sugar and a Trappist yeast strain, its fruity and spicy aromas include notes of orange, banana, and peppercorns. Coriander seeds add refreshing citrus notes which meld seamlessly with the beer’s delicate malt. Horny Devil finishes with a lively carbonation and a refreshingly dry finish.

Plenty of spices in the aroma (chili pepper, 5 spices and lemonpeel). Some lactic sourness Cloudy yellow no head. Weird flavors Meaty veggies, fruit, yeast, dirt very slight burn retronasal. Hides alcohol very well - surprisingly light body. Balance is off I think.

A sweet beer that finishes kind of oily. Strong, and it feels that way. I personally found it a bit too sweet, but I know that is my own preference talking. Fruit, spices, and oily hops come through to characterize this one. Large amount of alcohol makes it warming. Alesmith comes through again with an interesting brew.

UPDATED: MAR 14, 2006 Appearance: A nice copper/dark amber color with no head just some minor bubbling. Aroma: A very nice sweet aroma with some slightly blended fruity scentes going on, exquisit. Flavor profile: Sweet sweet belgian. The nice chewy belgian yeast mixed with delicious belgian candi sugar with some wicked spices make up the main flavor combining with a minor amount of well blended sweet banana esters, coriander, and a touch of something else. Mouthfeel: Very creamy, very smooth, not too thick, just right. Goes down really nice, barely a hint of the alcohol, leaves a very pleasant aftertaste that makes you want more, dry but not too dry. Overall: my new favorite beer, possibly because I have a sweet tooth., but still an awesome awesome beer.

Hazy blonde coloured body with a thinnish white head. Aroma of nice coriander seed, banana, bubble gum, and some yeast. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong yeastiness with a good sweetness and subtle hopiness on the tail-end. Aftertaste shows a lot of characterisitics ranging from coriander seed freshness to dry alcohol flavours. Overall, a nice beer and a truly great treat (even at $20) in Washington. I sampled this with great friend Phil (haddon90) at RFD in Washington, D.C. on 06-November-2004.

Nice multilayered belgain. Aroma and flavor are barnyard, butter, spice, and citrus. Creamy and full flavored.

Candy and syrupy on the first sip, really coats your mouth. Banana flavors and some tropical/exotic fruit are pronounced with a lite alcohol burn at the end (very faint). And yes, you can taste the coriander. Quite interesting as I’m not used to drinking this style of beer.

April 2004. Hazy golden ale with no head. Nose of peaches and coriander and fruit juice (5 -alive was mentioned, but my memory is blurry). Very sweet spicey beer with alcohol warmth but rather flat. Rich bodied.

KSBF 04, Thanks jeffin7 ! Decent white, lasting, Hazy, dark gold color, at least thats what i could see in the dimly lit parking garage. Spicey, buttery nose, very fragerant. Medium body, velvetty, creamy mouthfeel. Fruity, spicey, coriander flavors, lightly toffeeish, melons and some black pepper notes. Toasty malt notes in the background. Finish is dry, lasting, very gentle on the palate. I dig this beer! One of yer better tailgating brews. Thanks Jeff!

Hazy rich amber colour. Coriander and malt and pineapple and spice and then more of the same in the flavours. Fortunately it’s all the complexity I wanted - big in the mouth and very smnooth although not without noticeable alcohol. It was the finish of a varied and big night of tasting so it might have been slightly difficult to discern it all - very nice.

UPDATED: MAR 27, 2006 Poured a hazy copper color with a small off white head and light lacing on the glass. Aroma of yeast, sweet caramel, spices, citrus, and floral hops. More spice and yeast in the taste, reminded me of a tripel. A real taste bud pincher, this was way to dark to be a tripel, however.
