Second best beer I’ve ever had (only Trappistes Rochefort 10 beats this). This truely is ’little drops of heaven. And it’s made in the good old USA!
Who says American beer is no good? Make them drink this!

Bottle. Poured a cloudy amber color with no head or lacing. Amazing aroma of coriander, apricot, and maybe a little citrus to it. Excellent full mouthfeel. Complex flavor. Definite coriander start, with a strong alcohol taste to it as well. Finish is almost peach-like. A great offering from Alesmith.

Sampled on draught. Excellent domestic example of Belgian Golden Strong Ale, ala Duvel. Pours to a slightly hazy, deep golden color with a thick, and creamy, white head, and a good bit of carbonation. The nose on this beer is very well done, with good aromas of pale malt, and peppery alcohol. The palate is firm, with more good pale malt flavor, and a nice back drop of corriander. Finishes with more good pale malt up front, then ends dry and peppery, with some alcohol heat. Great aperitif beer, and very food friendly. A nice foil to buttery or strong cheese, and a good match with beef, lamb, or game. A great beer, from a great CA brewery.

"MMMMM this one was awsome. Poured a cloudy orange color with a nice head on top. Had a spicy aroma to it. Could taste the candi suger and yeast. This beer also hid the alcohol very well. AM a huge fan of this beer."

Pours beautiful clear light golden with small quickly receding head. Bubbles like chmpagne and they keep coming up from the bottom. Smell of coriander, honey, apples and pears. A little funk. Fruity flavor Very effervescent. Flavors follow the smell exactly, with some extra sweetness. Less dry than I expected from the aroma. Clean finish and light mouthfeel. Very nice. I liked this a lot.

UPDATED: JUL 20, 2011 Shipped to me by my wife on a trip to Portland. Sampled from a 750 ml brown bottle this beer poured a murky orange color with a huge foamy yellow head that lingered and produced good lacing. The aroma was tart and tangy with strong notes of lemon, key lime, sugar and yeast. The flavor was tart with a strong presence of key lime, coriander, sugar, yeast, salt and margarita. The finish was long, tart and limey. Fairly full bodied. The alcohol is amazingly well hidden. Marvelous.
