COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is the AleSmith incarnation of a Belgian Strong Ale. Horny Devil is an authentic Belgian Style ale, from the Belgian candi sugar right down to the yeast, a Belgian strain from a Trappist monastery in Belgium. In addition to the malts, candi sugar and fresh hops, there is also a little added twist from coriander seeds, which impart a refreshing citrus flavor to an outstanding ale. Belgian ale lovers around the world have raved about Horny Devil, and you will too.

Very nice aroma, starts with the smell of white wine, with a hint of sugar and spice in the background. Pours a hazy amber, with no head at all. The flavor... it’s a very sweet beer, tasting of candy and caramel, very thick heavy mouthfeel, with very little carbonation to cleanse the palate. Alcohol is noticeable in the finish, and the warming when swallowed. Not a bad beer, but for the price, I can find much better.

Keg at Brewdog Leeds. Pours clear pale gold, thin white head. Light bad and spice aromas, lagery. Taste is hot and boozy, more spice. Clean finish, light body. Not Belgian enough!

2012 Vintage (750ml) from Brewdog’s Online Shop:
Another brilliant beer from AleSmith, the quality really shows through with this one and it is remarkably easy to drink despite the fact it comes in at 11% abv. and is packed with flavour. It’s more fruity than I was expecting but the balance is great and the carbonation is perfect, helping the beer down far too easily for the strength of the beer. Simply put, this one is a must try for any beer fan and one that was well worth the very expensive price tag - definitely a beer that has aged well since I picked it up a couple of years ago.

Keg at Brewdog. Pale yellow, clear, still, small white head. Aroma is bubblegum, wheaty, rhubarb, coriander. Body is medium, slightly foamy, low carbonation. Taste is musty tripel, spice, touch of turkish delight sourness, alcohol comes through noticeably. Decent beer overall.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at BrewDog, Liverpool. Pours clear gold with no head. Aroma of pilsener and IPA with both hops and malts. Taste is sweet and full of malts, apples and citrus. Palate is thin and very drinkable. Nice beer with a great taste, though it could use a small head at the top to really top the beer off.
