COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is the AleSmith incarnation of a Belgian Strong Ale. Horny Devil is an authentic Belgian Style ale, from the Belgian candi sugar right down to the yeast, a Belgian strain from a Trappist monastery in Belgium. In addition to the malts, candi sugar and fresh hops, there is also a little added twist from coriander seeds, which impart a refreshing citrus flavor to an outstanding ale. Belgian ale lovers around the world have raved about Horny Devil, and you will too.

September 25, 2014. Bottle at SBWF. Pours clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is sweet with candy sugar, banana, coriander yeast and dough. Taste is medium sweet with grains, candy sugar, spices and alcohol. Medium bodied, oily texture and quite soft carbonation.

Very nice beer - a bit watery in appearance, which belies the amazing taste. Surprisingly malty for such light color. Nose is like a much darker beer, rich woody notes. Taste is gobs of citrus, candi sugar and light dried fruits. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a hazy light rust orange. Aroma and taste are both very unique. Aroma has a mix of yeast and fruits. Taste has fruits, malts, spices, wheat, yeast, malts, and sugar. A dry aftertaste from the wheat and yeast.

die for, and remained my favorite aspect of this tasty brew throughout. More spices and less complicated fruity aroma than the Grand Cru. Way to easy going down for 10%, not thin or huge, but quite smooth. As with the GC, the yeast strain is just clean as a whistle. More yeast and spice in the flavor as well, but not too much, and expertly balanced. I typically do not rave over coriander beers, but this is the best one Iíve had. More than enough to notice, but itís such a good beer, it works."

0.75l bottle brought home from Cask Pub & Kitchen. Been looking forward to trying this one for quite some while really. In the glass this one pours a slightly clouded looking straw yellow colored body with a lovely looking huge white head thatís lacing down the glass really nicely. Smells really good this! Itís sweetish, slightly yeasty, white sugar, mild coriander spiciness and traces of banana and generic fruit. Yeah, nice. Lots and lots of flavor! And it definitely has lots of coriander. Especially in the aftertaste. It has a soft small prickling carbonation level and a thick oily mouthfeel. I like the flavor in this also. Slightly sweetish, some sugar, traces of apples. The alcohol is as hidden as Iíve ever had a hidden abv beer. Yeah, I could drink lots of this. Well, not to much due to the abv but still, lots. 15.08.2014

Pours a slightly hazy golden orange from the bottle with bubbly white head that dissipates to leave light lace. Aroma is Belgian yeast, candy sugar and banana. Taste is less on the sugar and more on the fruity yeast esters. No sign of the booze, thin and easy, really nice.
