COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Horny Devil is our interpretation of a Belgian-style Golden Ale. Brewed with authentic Belgian ingredients including candi sugar and a Trappist yeast strain, its fruity and spicy aromas include notes of orange, banana, and peppercorns. Coriander seeds add refreshing citrus notes which meld seamlessly with the beer’s delicate malt. Horny Devil finishes with a lively carbonation and a refreshingly dry finish.

Bottled at Beer Temple, Amsterdam. Hazy golden colored, white head. Flowery nose, hops, spices, citrus. Alcoholic light bitter flavor. Resembles Karmeliet tripel a bit, but this one seems a bit less balanced, mainly because the sharp alcohol flavor, making is less easy to drink. A nice try, but too boozy for me.

Bottled: 12/31/15, sampled: 9/24/16. Pours clear and bright gold with floating specks of sediment and a lot of lively bubbles rising. It’s got a healthy, thick, white head on top as well. Aromas of bananas, subtle lemon rinds, peppers, earthy Belgian yeasts jump out at you, and the sweet fruit notes intensify as it warms. Flavors match the nose perfectly; well-balanced notes of bready malts, bananas, and spice keep the alcohol in check. Light-bodied, medium carbonation, and a dry finish. Citrus fruits show up a lot more as the beer warms up. Flavors create what would essentially be a fusion of Belgian tripel, imperial saison, and hefeweizen. Overall a delicious, drinkable beer that packs a big punch.

Horny Devil poured a murky yellow body with orange hues. A thick white head that left decent lace. Aromas of apricots, peach, and coriander were faint but noticeable. Mouthfeel was thick with a slight bite from the alcohol and carbonation. The flavor was a bit of a let down, alcohol was too dominant to let the flavors through. The only flavor that came through was yeast and that led to a unusual aftertaste, not that bad but not good either. Overall it was an o.k. brew, i have a second one i will try in a few days, maybe it will taste better. Originally rated on 10/8/2008.

Keyaki backlog. Bottle pour. Pours a hazy copper with 2 fingers of soapy looking head. Very Belgian yeast forward nose with some sweetness and light citrus notes. Very much like a Belgian tripel. Sweet on the palate and kind of soft and fluffy. Citrusy bitter finish with good carbonation. Kind of one-dimensional but still tasty. Boozy as it warms though.

0,75L bottle (from beergium). Pours golden with whiteish head. The head stays for some time. Aroma is sweet, fresh fruits, Belgian yeast, somewhat spicy, malt. Flavor is sweet, sugar, fresh fruits, citrus, apricots, spiciness. Alcohol is well covered (mostly by sweetness), drinkability is really good for ABV (I can session the big bottle by myself without any problems). Overall: good. It feels clean, but it is also a bit simple compared to some beers in the similar style. Still extra bump (+1) for drinkability...

Looks like caramel and mostly tastes like a really strong ale. You gotta love alcohol in and of itself to enjoy a beer like this. It hides it pretty well but at the end of the day its a boozy drink that i can’t think of much use for other than if you desire to get wasted quickly, corriander aka cilantro, peppercorn and belgian sugar yadayadayada aside.

Tastes like a trippel. Fruity flavor with booziness. Had at brewpub - very enjoyable.

Tap at Mikkeller Bangkok. Poured a hazy copper colour with a frothy white head. The aroma is Belgian yeast, alcohol. The flavour is moderate sweet with a dry crisp yeasty, sweet malt, alcohol bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.
