Mreusch, thanks! Pours a clear amber with a large rocky off-white head and very nice lacings. Sweet with a light to medium bitterness. Some malt and caramel aromas, but mostly a good layer of hops. Grapefruit with a hint of resin. Also a bit of alcohol. Medium to full bodied with a slightly creamy texture. Medium carbonation with a long bitter and hoppy finish. Very good hops profile. Good stuff.

Beautiful amber colour with nice rocky off-white head. Very nice flowerish caramel scent followed by a smooth hoppy taste. A great experience - thank you for that.

22oz bottle. Pours a clear, light amber with a half-inch high white head. It lingered to produce nice lacing on the glass. The aroma is huge hops sweet citrus and pine. Mmmm! This is the type of smell I expect from an IPA. The taste was not as citrusy as the aroma, but still fruity and could taste the sweet malt as well. The mouthfeel was medium with lots of bitterness, yet it did not overpower the smoother sweetness. Great beer!. One of my top 3 IPAs.

UPDATED: AUG 28, 2009 22 oz. bottle - pours clear copper with big hop nose coming off the thick white head; considerable lacing and added aroma mix of pine and sweet citrus; hops are very under the radar in the flavors as it leans much more to the malty and creamy finish; so tasty; a few weekends back i compared my first home brewed IPA to a few other brands with favorable comparisons, but an IPA like this really humbles me as a home brewer and a beer drinker!! great stuff

As Iíve come to expect from AleSmith, this pours with a dense head that lasts. Smell is beautifully balanced between hops and malt; bitter, herbal, slightly grassy hop taste against a warm, lightly tooasted biscuit with honey malt flavor. Touch of apricot fruitiness, Body is full for an IPA, finish is mostly hop bitterness with a little fruit.

Thanks Tim! I had one of these but drank it before realizing that I had never rated it. Pine, flowery, citrus, and honey aroma. Taste is honey, pine, flowers, and tangerines. (tastes like simcoe & amarillo) Nice bitterness, but not overpowering. Nice flavor, nice mouthfeel.

Ah, itís wonderful to find a beer that is exactly what you want from that style and more. This one is loaded with hoppy goodness with aroma of pine, maple syrup, smoky pleasent-ness, and sweetness. The body is full with just the right balance of alcohol, sweet syrupy malt, and bitter hop nature in the finish. It has a thicker smoother texture than a thin IPA.
The one weakness is that it has a huge white head that disappears very quickly. One of my favourite beers.

Beautiful beer all around. Crystal clear dark amber reddish body with tons of visible carbonation. The white head on top was about a half inch and stuck to the sides.
Grapefruit, citrus, a touch of pine, and tasty. Just like an IPA should smell. Not as sweet as a double IPA would be which is perfect.
The hops are strong and up front in the flavor also, but they arenít as citrusy as they were in the aroma. The hop flavors are more piney which seems to make it more sticky malty. The hop flavor is really clear but not what I expected or prefer in an IPA really. Just personal preference really. Big malt presence and a great amount of bitterness.
On the heavier end of what I would expect in an IPA, but still good. The malty backbone adds body.
Not my favorite IPA, but thatís because I like a lot of grapefruity flavor. Certainly a top notch IPA though.

Aromas of light caramel malt, lots of pine and floral notes. Flavor is toasted bread, nutty caramel and pine-hop flavor. Very solid and satisfying, an almost perfect balance of sweet and bitter. The texture is full with lively carbonation and it leaves your mouth slightly dry, which for me is a good thing. Huge thanks to Brigadier for the unexpected surprise.

One of the best IPAís I have ever had. The only thing was a little dissapointed in was the aroma, I expected a little more. Was my first alesmith experience. Did not leave a overpowering taste in my mouth. I reccomend
