May 27, 2009 Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orange color with a small white head. Has a malty hoppy bitter grapefruit aroma with some piney hints. Malty hoppy bitter grapefruit flavor. Has a long malty hoppy bitter finish with nice grapefruit in the aftertaste.

May 26, 2009 22 oz bottle. Perfect pour -- orange-copper color, just-opaque, with a perfectly rolling head. The aroma is also a winner -- equal parts good ol’ malt "beer smell" and glorious citrusy hops. This drinks with an almost-thick resiny consistency, with a muscled hoppy character and sweet malt backdrop. Very, very well put-together brew. (#3554, 5/26/2009)

May 22, 2009 Bottle. Big piney hops in the aroma, along with biscuity malt and a hint of citrus. Tremendously full and mellow mouthfeel. Flavor has well balanced bitter and sweet flavors. Finishes with slew of citrus, pine and mild herbal flavors, long lingering bitterness and hop oils. Obviously very well made. The bold finish was unparalleled among ipas I’ve tried. IMO not as much flavor in the middle as Two-Hearted ale.

does not count  May 20, 2009 22oz bomber of ale smith ipa. Poured into a tulip glass. Aroma is the best part of this beer. Smells of citrus and hops with a slight malt or breadiness. Large white head that slowly breaks down if at all. Strong grapefruit flavor with a bitter finish. One of my favorite IPA’s.
