Itís Pretty Awesome. A San Diego classic, AleSmith IPA showcases the versatility of American hops. Aromas of grapefruit and tangerine lead into an abundance of fresh pine and tropical fruit notes followed by a crisp, resinous bitterness. The complex hop profile is supported by a firm malt presence to create an incredibly flavorful and well-balanced IPA.

Pours clean with mild foamy head; coloration is light copper-golden hue. Aroma of citrus, pine, sorta earthy... maybe some spice? Very well-balanced, complex taste of multiple hops plus a mild fruity sweetness before subsiding to the hoppy, bitter pine. Very solid, and I enjoyed it, but nothing in the bouquet or taste deserving of the scores I have seen thus far for it.

Bottle. Appearance is golden with nice white head. Aroma is citrus, tropical fruit, and pine. Taste is similar to the aroma with citrus, tropical fruit, some malty sweetness, and a nice crisp bitter finish. Decent body, nice carb. This is a really great regular IPA, lots of juicy citrus and tropical fruit flavour balanced with a nice amount of bitterness. Man, alesmith makes me happy.

Cult classic IPA here. As the description states IPA means Itís Pretty Awesome. This beer along with Stone IPA really paved the path for what we are seeing today. This beer pours a golden amber color with a beautiful fluffy white head. Aroma is huge floral and citrus bouquet. Taste is sweet pine and tropical fruit notes with a nice even bitterness and malt backbone that compliments it. Top notch San Diego Classic.

Bottle. Actually the description on the bottle, which is pretty much the description on RB nails it completely. Thatís really what itís like. Not sure Iíve ever seen / agreed with one quite so much. Very tasty stuff. I was expecting it to be decent but this was better than hoped. Quintessential US IPA. Will be seeking out more of this.
