beerandIT (177), Richmond, Virginia, USA Apr 8, 2009 Wow and wow again. Hops strong on the nose. Very very balanced. The hops do not dominate the palate at all as I have come to expect and enjoy in a morbid way from west coast and mid west ipas. In the flavor I get hops, citrus, pine but nothing doing more then anything else should with this beer. I would have to say that this guy is my new favorite IPA. Hats off to Alesmith. MeisterBrew (138), Cheyenne, Wyoming, USA Apr 7, 2009 Bottle. Poured a hazy golden color with a nice sized white head. Very hoppy aroma... grapefruit, citrus, and pine. Flavor is very smooth, not overpowering. Sweet flavor initially gives way to a nice hoppy bitterness. I love it! joeneugs (289), Livermore, California, USA Apr 6, 2009 For sure, a top notch IPA. It pours golden orange with a dissapearing orange head. The aroma is balanced with sweet, spicy caramel and fresh bitter citrus and hints of tropical fruit. Taste is very smooth and well balanced. It’s almost honey like sweet followed by a fruity, spicy bitterness. Medium bodied and an relatively easy drinking summer beer. jeff789 (360), Pennsylvania, USA Apr 6, 2009 Light amber with a nice head, good retention... Huge hops, citrus, grapefruit, this is what an ipa should smell like.... Easy drinking, good flavor, nice hoppy flavor with a touch of malt to calm it down... Dry finish, lingering hops... Wow, amazing IPA, just as good as two hearted, racer 5, and blind pig... Allen (1289), Switzerland Apr 6, 2009 Bottled 650ml. Courtesy of badlizard. Great head retention. Most beautiful lacework. Deeply inviting nose, strong and reminiscent of Cascade with hints of mandarin, grapefruit, vanilla, nasturcium, pine needles, blue cheese, mustard and coconut. Extremely pleasant taste. Flawless an abundant with flavors. Undoubtably one of the best IPAs in the world. Far better than Bells Two Hearted Ale for example. Thanks a lot badlizard for this amazing beer! tarheels86 (705), Washington DC, USA Apr 6, 2009 22 oz thanks to Joey! Pours a clear, light amber with a one finger beige head. Moderate carbonation. God-like lacing. Big grapefruit aroma with sweet caramel, toffee, flowers, pineapple juice. Taste is very well balanced. Up front lots of pineapple juice and bubbles followed by fresh grapefruit juice, citrus hops, and some sweet caramel malt. Spicy, dry finish. Best IPA in the world? Pretty close but I might take Sierra Nevada Harvest over this one. But damn this is good. cmonster (74), Portland, Oregon, USA Apr 5, 2009 Bomber served in a tulip. Pours a polished golden copper with a large frothy off-white head. Aromatic pineapple hops with an underlying vanilla, sweet honeyed malt. My favorite nose of any IPA. Significant lacing. Medium body and smooth, creamy texture. Earthy, warming, bittersweet finish of some length. Fantastic! arondee (176), Tucson, Arizona, USA Apr 5, 2009 Updated: May 13, 20091 pint 6oz bottle from BevMo. Poured a pure copper color with a nice white head that fell very slowly, moderate carbonation. The smell is very floral, lots of citrus and hops. The taste is all citrus, a good amount of hops with a slightly bitter aftertaste but not overwhelming at all. Really good, close to perfect IPA. Just what I wanted.
