Commercial Description:
AleSmith IPA used to be known as "Irie Pirate Ale." However, some nasty patent attorneys think the name is too similar to another brand, so we had to "cease and desist." It's a darn shame, but it beats an obnoxious legal battle, in both expenses and Excedrin. Don't worry though, we won't change the beer (which is a MUCH better IPA than that "other" brand). It was conceived as an American-style IPA to satisfy the yearnings of the most die-hard hopheads. Its high alcohol content may catch you unawares if you're not careful, but it's hard to resist once you've tasted it. Appearance: Deep golden to light amber color, and a nice beige head, with good retention when properly served. Flavor: Starts off with strong citrusy, resiny flavors, balanced by a nice malty sweetness, then fades to a dry finish with a lingering hoppiness and a faint hint of plums and black cherries. Aroma: Strong piney-citrusy character, with vanilla in the background. Mouthfeel (body/texture): Smooth, medium-bodied. Feels warm in the mouth from the alcohol.

Bottle. Pours cloudy golden with a good creamy head and lacings. Mega fruity hoppy nose. Very nice with various combinations. Fruity and hoppy taste. Grapefruit and citrus. Very crisp and funky. Dry bitter lasting end. Nice

Uklar lys ravfarvet med et flot hvidt skum. Dufter af grapefrugt, citrus, sæbe, græs og noget ananas. Smager af lakrids, græs, citrus, peber og lidt gær. God lang eftersmag, vel humlet. En øl tæt på min personlighed. Lækker, spænstig og dejlig........

Flaske: Fantastisk duft af citrus. Ren og klar. Flot øl er det også. Smagen er super afbalanceret og jeg ville ønske jeg kunne smage denne øl helt frisk, så ville den virkelig ringe. Men stadig hypet øl hvor det er fuldt fortjent den er hypet.

Bottle: new year tasting in el flor with ramenen, one of the ipas i have tried, too bad it is not available in el Salvador. good way to start 2009.

Bomber. Purs a nice golden color. Aroma is floral and fruity with lots of citrus and grape notes. Taste is fruity with some grape,pine,hops and som e apricot notes. Caramellmalt can be found, Nice and creamy mouthfeel. Great beer!

A very fine ipa. Colour is amber and the aroma is full of hops, citrus, pine and some sweet caramel notes. The flavour is quite balanced with the citrusy and piney hop flavours balanced by the caramel and alcohol. Well done and smooth, but not really an eye opener.

Bottle. Light hazy golden colour with a long lasting white creamy head. Citric aroma with notes of mango and spicy hops. Very citric and fresh fruity flavour notes and mango, apricot and grape fruit is noticable. Long fruity and citric finish. Creamy highly carbonated body. Great IPA.

Bottle shared with Plovmand. Golden body with a medium white head. Aroma is fruit, citrus (grape) and lots of hops. Taste is also fruit, citrus (again grape) and hops. The aftertaste is very bitter, i love it.
