4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours a bright copper body, frothy white head that leaves excellent lacing. Big aromas of grapefruit and tangerine with subtle scents of pine. Malt flavors up front with fresh tropical citrus fruit tastes. Some herbal and resinous notes come through as well. Medium body with somewhat sticky feel. Slightly dry bitter finish. Very nice IPA overall.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours pale amber with thick stable white head. Nose is floral and sweet intens nose of hops. Taste is citric fuit like bloodorange or pomelo. Midway there is some dryness that is however quickly vanishing. Leaving behind intense hoppy Aroma. The last taste remaining however is grass or hay, long after the last sip. Also there is very much carbonation going on in this beer. This is great

Pours gold with a white head. Aroma is citrus, florals and pine. Taste is bittersweet with a crisp clean finish. Medium bodied, alcohol well hidden and to easy to drink. What an IPA is supposed to be, a classic that still impresses.

The Black Swan, Copenhagen. Keg. With Colin and Reubs. Bottle - big thanks to Theydon_Bois for buying this! Hazy gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, good fine carbonation. Decent malt base lets the hops shine - Floral pine, minty pine, mild marmalade and a little hop spice. Light crisp finish. Hugely drinkable and tastes pretty fresh.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours light amber with medium white frothy head. Pretty good lacing, head mostly diminishing. Aroma is medium malty with cookie and cereal. Heavy hopping with pine, lemon, grapefruit, orange and papaya. Light yeast aromas. Moderate sweetness, moderate bitter, long finish, very balanced, not in your face. Not super fruity. Palate is creamy, carbonation is average. Nice.

31st May 2015: bomber shared with the wife in the sun on our daughters patio, Laguna Niguel. Most likely the best American IPA I have had so far, not over the top in hop bitterness but no slouch either. Hazy dull orange pour with a good head that leaves lacing as the beer level falls in the glass. This beer highlights what is good about Southern Californian IPA’s without blowing your socks off with hoppiness, like some breweries seem to try and do. Flavoursome, aromatic and very, very drinkable. A truly great beer.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
I’ve purchased this brew several times and yet have never reviewed yet. Possibly one of the best-balanced IPA’s out there. Amber-bronze pour, citrus-heavy nose with underlying musk/woody-pine. Flavor is simply juicy atop a biting pine resin. Finish is not too heavy, dryer than most, getting you impatient for the next sip. A subtle linger on the roof of the mouth. Simple, enjoyable, certainly a staple for IPA lovers.
