Pours a nice copper amber with a creamy light yellow head. The nose was intense and fruity, very nice fresh hop nose, mango, grapefruit peel, mild spicy character. Flavor is very fruity and hoppy, mango, citrus rind, well contained bitterness. Wonderful flavor. Palate has a nice spicy bitterness that doesn’t dominate. Funtastic IPA. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 26, 2008 A- Pours an orangey hue with an absolutely phenomenal head which sticks around all the way through, leaving torrents of lacing on the side of my glass.
S- Very floral hops and a sweet malt backbone.
T- Taste is smooth and sweet, definitely hopped up but not obtrusively so.
M- Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy, not too viscous with about an average amount of carbonation.
D- This is a monumentally drinkable IPA. I shared the bomber with my dad but could have easily had the whole thing to myself.

Nice piney grapefruit right away even after about a year on this bottle i think. Thick head that clings to the glass long after the pour. For all the hops this thing has its a smoother drinking IPA than some. Very well balanced. I need to go to California and get this fresh from the kegs. Thanks again dra19. Passionfruit & grapefruit notes, bitterish fruitsherbet aroma’s. Very perfumey-hoppy flavours; enhanced by the alcohol coming out. Quite clean palate, quite slick. Good IPA, basically not overpowering, enticing. yenbrat (1), California, USA does not count | 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Apr 22, 2008 AleSmith IPA is at the top of the list when it comes to this hoppy west coast style IPA. A rush of piney and citrusy hop aroma sweeps over you when you crack open this bottle of real ale. As you pour into your glass the light amber nectar releases carbonation carrying the aroma of a fresh hop field to your nose as you anxiously wait for the white head to settle down to take your first sip. Intense hop flavor is balanced with a malty sweetness creating a symphony of flavors on the tongue with a dry finish. Hops are intense throughout the entire experience but no so much that you need a break between quaffs. Excellent presentation of the sinfully hoppy west coast IPA. Good taste of peaches and hops with the aftertaste of In N Out burger’s for some reason. Good beer but not as good as I was expecting. Improves as it warms up.Might buy again
