Hudspart (371), Hudsonville, Michigan, USA Apr 13, 2008 I know that one day this beer and I are gonna to get married on top of a mountain, and there’s going to be flutes playing and trombones and flowers and garlands of fresh herbs. And we will dance till the sun rises. And then our children will form a family band. And we will tour the countryside and you won’t be invited.
JugOPunch (77), Nashua, New Hampshire, USA Apr 11, 2008 The cadillac of IPAs. This beer defines what "balance" is in a beer. A lush citrus hop balanced by smooth malty sweetness. The aroma is magnificent with a forest full of fruit to savor. The mouthfeel lends itself to a session despite the 7.25%. A pleasure to drink from beginning to end. I’m still waiting for regular distribution out here in the East. Damn. fonefan (10868), VestJylland, Denmark Apr 10, 2008 Bottle. [Courtesy of wetherel]. Clear medium amber orange color with a large, frothy to creamy, good - excellent lacing, fully lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is heavy hoppy, pine, citrus - grape. Flavor is heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily - creamy, carbonation is soft. Very very nice ;o)) (180308) stetzel (22), portland, Oregon, USA Apr 8, 2008 nice lacy white head.amazing aroma.flavor is text book san deigo style ipa, hops, hops, and when your screaming more hops.this is the apex of west coast ipa.thank you alesmith JoeinUccle (902), Brussels, Belgium Apr 7, 2008 Big thanks to Shyam for sending this my way. To my US palate living on European soil, this tastes like America. Bomber pours bright amber with a tall, fluffy and lasting white head. Very pretty. Big, classic, citrus-floral hoppy nose. Flavor offers a light, juicy sweetness before blossoming into fresh-hoppy bitterness that gains strength and lasts and lasts. I’m left with a memory and wishes for more. My only complaint is a lack of sessionability. But this is a doozy. Ofortuna (322), Grafton, Wisconsin, USA Apr 5, 2008 Ah, the highest rated IPA in the world. I’ve been craving this one for a long time. Nice frothy head with a slick lacing on the side of the glass. The character Alesmith hop aroma present. Many layers of complexity in regards to the hop presence. Qutie nice. However, the malt itself really took away from the experience. A bit cloying and pushed the beer out of balance for me. Quite a contrast here between the strong hop profile and the overly sweet malt backbone. robinvboyer (1419), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada Apr 4, 2008 wow.........soooooooooooooooooooooooooo hoppy. just amazing, not very balanced, cause there isnt much malt, but dear god a hop addicts wet dream!! santos999 (318), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 28, 2008 Courtesy of dpjuart. Pours a hazy orange with a large white head. Smells citric and piney, with a strong burnt plastic aroma. Not bad taste though, very bitter with some caramel malt notes and a touch of yeasty fruitiness. Finishes very dry and grainy. Meh..
