NachlamSie (1630), Tennessee, USA Jun 6, 2007 Bottle split with Muenster. Pours a cloudy amber/orange with a very tall white head that lasts, lasts, lasts, and lasts. Great smelling IPA here. It’s heavy on the pineapple with dry pine resin, a bit of malts. It’s exotic and spicy all around. Okay, here I am being critical, I could use some more hops, but jeez, it is hoppy indeed. Finish is dry with just a hint of juiciness resonating from a grilled pineapple flavor. It’s insanely drinkable. An appealing level of sticky pine is found throughout. This is a damn good beer, it is. Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 5, 2007 (Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of Storm. Hazy, amber golden with a creamy, off-white head leaving laces. Fresh, citrusy hop aroma. Medium body, light notes of caramel and very distinct citrus and peach from the hops. Rather hoppy finish. Solid West Coast IPA. 310507 TheKegergator (241), California, USA Jun 3, 2007 Greta looking brew. Pours a chrytal clear amber color. Head is very nice, stays with the brew all the way through. Very drinkable, and good IPA brianbuntz (49), Santa Monica, California, USA Jun 2, 2007 Pours a reddish brown with a thick head. Aroma of hops and malt. The hops have a strong citrus element in the aroma and lend a grapefruit finish that meshes well with the peppery, yeasty, sweetness of the beer. Best IPA of the 25 or so I’ve tried. malrubius (969), Valley Stream, New York, USA Jun 2, 2007 Updated: Jan 7, 2009Bottle in a pint glass. Pours copper with a dense rocky lasting white head and excellent lacing. Aroma of fresh hop flowers and some citrus. Flavor of bitter hops and more hops and then some hops. Surprisingly medium-light body. Super-dry disappearing flavor seems like it should linger at least a little. Nice beer, but the best IPA in the world? Well, I’ll have to rate some others and see.
re-rate: Now that I’m a big fan of hoppy IPAs, this one is awesome. Just the right amount of biscuit honey fruit aromatic hop bitterness and bouquet and flavor and orangy citrus. Outstanding. More points for everything. drewbeerme (2224), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jun 1, 2007 22oz bottle. pours golden-amber with white head. nice nose of PNW hops, piney and grapefruit. flavor is nice and bitter with piney grapfruit hop notes and a bit of biscuit. taste fresh, clean, and highly refreshing. abv well hidden. carbination is smooth. real tasty. xnoxhatex (1305), Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA May 31, 2007 Bomber, brought back from San Diego in December. Dark orange color with huge, long lasting, creamy head. Aroma is citrus hops, some bitter hops in aroma, sweet malt, doughy yeast, toffee, very nice. Nice full body, with little carb, very creamy, very apropiate. Very balanced malt and hops, toffee, piney. This is an amazing beer, I will have to taste it fresh. golubj (1275), Sunnyvale, California, USA May 29, 2007 Bottle. Outstanding hop aroma of citrus, pine, mango, and pineapple. Smells a little chalky. The mouthfeel is about perfect (smooth and just the right amount of carbonation). Flavor has significant malt with all the nice hop flavors mentioned before but a little too resiny. Probably my favorite IPA.
