COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
AleSmith IPA used to be known as "Irie Pirate Ale." However, some nasty patent attorneys think the name is too similar to another brand, so we had to "cease and desist." It's a darn shame, but it beats an obnoxious legal battle, in both expenses and Excedrin. Don't worry though, we won't change the beer (which is a MUCH better IPA than that "other" brand). It was conceived as an American-style IPA to satisfy the yearnings of the most die-hard hopheads. Its high alcohol content may catch you unawares if you're not careful, but it's hard to resist once you've tasted it. Appearance: Deep golden to light amber color, and a nice beige head, with good retention when properly served. Flavor: Starts off with strong citrusy, resiny flavors, balanced by a nice malty sweetness, then fades to a dry finish with a lingering hoppiness and a faint hint of plums and black cherries. Aroma: Strong piney-citrusy character, with vanilla in the background. Mouthfeel (body/texture): Smooth, medium-bodied. Feels warm in the mouth from the alcohol.

Pours a beautiful hazy, sunset orange color with a finger length off white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a thick lacing around the glass. Nice carbonation which tells me this will be a refreshing ipa. Smells of resinous fruits like grapefruit, tangerine, mango, and pineapple. Also get some pine and like a bubblegum smell from the sweet malts. Taste is very much like it smells. starts with the resinous fruits such as pineapple and tangerine. Then in the middle there is a great balance of malt: get bready flavors as well as a creamy carmel sweetness. Then the finish is an incredible blend of the sweet, carmely malts and the resinous hop qualities. Get a prominent bubblegum flavor, as well as hints of pineapple, pine, grapefruit, and lemon. The bitterness gets more astringent as it goes through the flavor profile; however, the sweet and bready malts also get more prominent on the finish, so there is a nice balance at the end. A nice dry, crisp, clean finish. Medium body with a creamy and crisp mouthfeel. Wish I could get this more often. Just an incredible IPA.

Bottled. Very slightly hazy gold with a large, frothy bright-white head. Grapefruit, leather, sweet nectarine and black pepper aroma with a lightly sweet cookie signoff. Sticky textured with heavy grapefruit rind flavors, light grass, green tea, leathery tannins. Dry, lingering bitter finish. Zesty citrus fruits become more apparent in immediate aftertaste as it warms. Very good.

1 pint bottle from Alko Arkadia, Helsinki. Wow, nice smell of hops and some fruitiness. Colour is light orange with a big head. Taste has a nice mixture of citrus fruits with dry hops. So tasty, you forget how much alcohol it contains.

Pours a light golden with a small head that leaves minimal lacing. Aroma is full of grapefruit and pine, really nice and almost hypnotizing. Taste is amazingly balanced with a solid malt backbone and a medium-high level of bitterness. The malt comes out a bit like honey and is not cloying at all. Flavors of citrus abound. Mouthfeel is smoooooth with a lower level of carbonation (just right). An excellent beer, I can see why it would be the top of its range!

22 oz bottle. Pours light orangish amber with very thick fluffy head. Aroma is fresh juicy grapefruit hops. Hints of sweetness and pine. Taste is smooth creamy mild caramel malt with those sweet citrusy hops on the finish. Incredibly restrained bitterness, almost separate from the hops, but comes on at the finish and lingers well. Easily among the smoothest, best balanced IPAs I’ve ever had - simply no harsh notes.

NYC Trip Beer #7. Needed a good spot near the Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theater in NYC. Stumbled upon the Guilty Goose, which proved fortuitous. I was excited to see this beer on the menu, as it would be my first opportunity to taste it. Poured the color of an aged orange peel with a lighter head than I expected. Flavors of citrus. Liked it, didn’t love it. Flavor was a touch on the grassy side for me. Bottle - Guilty Goose - New York, NY

Bomber from consumers beverages in Niagara Falls ny. Pours light orange with a big off white head. Looks perfect. Nice hoppy nose but it could be bigger and punchier. The flavour is solid, lots of hop flavour, lingering bitterness, dry finish. Not the freshest bottle but still highly enjoyable. Would love to try it fresher.
