COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
AleSmith IPA used to be known as "Irie Pirate Ale." However, some nasty patent attorneys think the name is too similar to another brand, so we had to "cease and desist." It's a darn shame, but it beats an obnoxious legal battle, in both expenses and Excedrin. Don't worry though, we won't change the beer (which is a MUCH better IPA than that "other" brand). It was conceived as an American-style IPA to satisfy the yearnings of the most die-hard hopheads. Its high alcohol content may catch you unawares if you're not careful, but it's hard to resist once you've tasted it. Appearance: Deep golden to light amber color, and a nice beige head, with good retention when properly served. Flavor: Starts off with strong citrusy, resiny flavors, balanced by a nice malty sweetness, then fades to a dry finish with a lingering hoppiness and a faint hint of plums and black cherries. Aroma: Strong piney-citrusy character, with vanilla in the background. Mouthfeel (body/texture): Smooth, medium-bodied. Feels warm in the mouth from the alcohol.

Thick and smooth, pours orange. Very tasty IPA. Pine and citrusy hoppy flavors, and also malty flavors. Kind of bitter but not overwhelming.

Bomber from Hi-Times. Hazy golden/amber pour with a persistent white head. Beautiful heavy aroma of hops and grapefruit with a touch of spice. Nice flavor combo of fruit, hops and malt with a perfect amount of bitter grapefruit in the finish. Alchohol is masked by the hop charge. Fairly full mouthfeel.

I don’t like IPAs. This is probably my favorite one. Not super hoppy. Very citrusy, mostly grapefruit.

Immediately hoppy nose of citrus. First couple sips stay with you but the beer seems to become slightly lacking once into it. Malts are far to overpowered, leaving you wanting more half sip. Hops seem to overcompensate for lack of body. Overall, a decent IPA but betters are easily found.

Best IPA I’ve ever drunk. Full-bodied yet kind of light. Pleasant amber color. Definitely a peach-citrus taste to this beer but yet not too sweet. Bought this directly from AleSmith in 22-oz. bottles, though I’ve also seen this in Whole Foods here in San Diego too.

Another quality brew by AleSmith. Pours a murky copper with a head that lingers. Nose of citrus and hops, very nice on the palate with a nice dry finish. Very high quality beer for the price.

Pours with an amber color and a moderate head. Nice hoppy aroma. A fairly full bodied beer. Starts with a nice malt flavor followed by a wave of hops. I enjoyed this beer and if given the opportunity would certainly buy it again.

Strong piney-citrusy character. The alcohol is blended well for a big IPA. This is one of those classic IPAs that you use to judge other IPA’s by. I would love to try it on-tap, only had the bomber.

Pine, lime, and orange peel with a touch of celantro in the nose. Amber in color with a persistant white creamy head. Searing hop dominance with apricot fruit and pine and a tinge of grapefruit. Frothy and smooth in the mouth. Simply a wonderful IPA..
