UPDATED: MAR 1, 2003 Bottled: Light amber coloured. Medium head. Has fruitcharacters in the nose. Hops and cocoa as well. Flavour is hoppy and has cocoa characters. Is medium bitter in the end. Thanks to herbjones for this great IPA.

The aroma is quite malty and very hoppy. Perfume and dried, fuzzy fruits in the nose.
Hazy dark golden color with large bits of yeast. The medium-sized head is white, creamy and fully lasting. Excellent lacing.
The flavor is very malty up front. Toffee and caramel. Very nicely unsweetened by the hops on the backside. A very warming, complexly bitter flavor. Hops and fuzzy fruits. Full-bodied. Lively carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel. A long, nicely bitter, dry finish. Excellent IPA. HopHead ambrosia. Thanks go out to herbjones for this one. I just burped up a hop blossom.

Bottle at tasting. Dark amber color with a small white head. Great complex aroma. Medium body with smooth texture. Good flavor with strong bitter finish.

A Mes rate: Bottle at Chris O’s extravaganza. Amber colour with and off white head. Hoppy and spicy aroma with plenty of lemon and grapefruit. Gives just a hint of the full on hop assault that you are about to experience. For me the flavour is just way too hoppy. Floral and soapy and just whatever, WAY too much. Palate is just too tangy due to the excessive hopping you have just endured. Hops are great. An overload of hops does not a good beer make. Compared to say a Russian River this is just seriously lacking finesse. Way over rated in my opinion.

Shared bottle provided by Eyedrinkale (thanks!). Poured a medium, cloudy amber color with a white head. Fruity and citric aromas and tastes. Nicely bitter. Very solid IPA.

Fruchtiger Geruch, in dem der Hopfen sanft rüberkommt. Im Antrunk meldet sich der Hopfen ebenfalls weitestgehend mit übermäigen Grasnoten sowie einer grapefruitartigen Fruchtigkeit. Im weiteren Verlauf schwächen diese Aromen ab, verlieren aber nicht gänzlich an Intensität, der Hopfen ist mild aber dennoch in Teilen rauh. Im weiteren Verlauf wird der Hopfen keineswegs stärker, festigt sich aber. Zum Ende nochmal aromatisch hopfig mit deutlichen holzigen und grasigen Komponenten, die nur leichte Bitterkeit erfreut und macht das Bier sehr süffig. Gelungenes IPA. 12/12/11/11/11/11

Bottle. Dark golden colour with an off-white head. Aroma is grapefruit, hop, pine. Flavour is grapefruit, hop, pine, malt, caramel. Very nice beer.

Amber orange ale with a huge off-white head. Wonderful hops in aroma with citrus notes. Citrus and hops with a good malt backbone. Very well balanced and pleasant.

Deep amber beer, thin off-white head. Sweet hoppy aroma, with strong citrus, grapefruit and a mango/pineapple tropical fruitiness. Very fruity flavour with the sweet malts accenting the sweet fruity hops producing a juicy tropical character. Long sweet orange, mango and grapefruit flavour on the back with just a touch of resin. Nice brew.

Glowing orange hued with a thin lacey head. Bountiful hop aroma as if I just poured pure hop extract. Body is moderately thick, lightly effervescent and finishes dry and citrusy. Smooth with an almost syrupy mouthfeel which improves as it warms. Could be a little sweeter and more balanced. A pretty good IPA, but it is still a step behind Stone.
