It’s Pretty Awesome. A San Diego classic, AleSmith IPA showcases the versatility of American hops. Aromas of grapefruit and tangerine lead into an abundance of fresh pine and tropical fruit notes followed by a crisp, resinous bitterness. The complex hop profile is supported by a firm malt presence to create an incredibly flavorful and well-balanced IPA.

Bottle at 16 Tons, Eugene. This IPA is seriously approaching perfection. Pours a deep amber/orange color, slight head, medium lacing. Aroma is very resinous, with a little bit of citrus cropping up as well. Medium body, incredibly smooth, well-balanced finish that lacks neither hops nor malt. What IPA should be, seriously.

A bit more middle of the road than I was expecting. The aroma is light and floral with subtle hints of citrus. The flavor is similar with a bit of cereal. The mouthfeel and body are rather light. The finish is very crisp and reasonably bitter.

Smells of intense citrus and pine. Medium carbonation and semi-foamy. Taste is heavy on hops and flowers and grass. Medium length aftertaste of bitter hops and floral herbs. A bit of alcohol warmth.

Draft. Poured a clear gold with small sudsy white head. Aromas of floral, citrus fruit, tropical fruit, and pine. Flavor had grapefruit, floral, mango, pineapple, and pine. Medium body, fairy thin texture, good carbonation, and a medium bitterness to finish. Very nice.

Pours a deep golden brown from the bomber with fluffy off-white head. Aroma of big resinous piney hops with nice caramel and biscuit malt behind. Taste follows, definitely hop forward but nice balance. Soft carbonation, medium body, no booze, great IPA.

Pours copper with a nice white head that leave lacing down the glass. clear with moderate carbonation. Aroma is dominated by citrus: orange and grapefruit. At a sip, it starts off sweet with definite grapefruit zest. Transitions into a very thick pine resin for a lingering finish. A solid malt sweetness, but it is definitely just enough to balance the aggressive hopping. Overall a very good ipa with just enough malt to keep it exceptionally drinkable.

Pours a bright copper body, frothy white head that leaves excellent lacing. Big aromas of grapefruit and tangerine with subtle scents of pine. Malt flavors up front with fresh tropical citrus fruit tastes. Some herbal and resinous notes come through as well. Medium body with somewhat sticky feel. Slightly dry bitter finish. Very nice IPA overall.

Pours pale amber with thick stable white head. Nose is floral and sweet intens nose of hops. Taste is citric fuit like bloodorange or pomelo. Midway there is some dryness that is however quickly vanishing. Leaving behind intense hoppy Aroma. The last taste remaining however is grass or hay, long after the last sip. Also there is very much carbonation going on in this beer. This is great
