AleSmith IPA used to be known as "Irie Pirate Ale." However, some nasty patent attorneys think the name is too similar to another brand, so we had to "cease and desist." It's a darn shame, but it beats an obnoxious legal battle, in both expenses and Excedrin. Don't worry though, we won't change the beer (which is a MUCH better IPA than that "other" brand). It was conceived as an American-style IPA to satisfy the yearnings of the most die-hard hopheads. Its high alcohol content may catch you unawares if you're not careful, but it's hard to resist once you've tasted it. Appearance: Deep golden to light amber color, and a nice beige head, with good retention when properly served. Flavor: Starts off with strong citrusy, resiny flavors, balanced by a nice malty sweetness, then fades to a dry finish with a lingering hoppiness and a faint hint of plums and black cherries. Aroma: Strong piney-citrusy character, with vanilla in the background. Mouthfeel (body/texture): Smooth, medium-bodied. Feels warm in the mouth from the alcohol.

UPDATED: AUG 30, 2013 2012-07-11. AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 = 3.7 Clear golden with white head. Aroma has raisin, grass, roses, citrus and biscuits. Light/medium body. Starts off fresh and crisp as a hoppy citrusy flavor builds up leaving a dry resinous aftertaste. Notes of biscuit and grapefruit too.

Re-rate 2013-08-30, a couple of months old, I think. Hazy light orange with a medium sized nicely lacing white head. Delicious hoppy nose, citrus, resin, some biscuit as well. Lots of things unfolds at the first sip, but hard to dissect the flavour. Pineapple, mango, lychee, light caramel. Very easy to drink, light dry and bitter finish, soft carbonation. Hits the spot. 8-4-8-4-17

Butelka 650ml. Piwo piecze w ustach i gardle. Polecam. OCENA : smak : 8/10 pijaln ość : 6/10 styl : +1

22 oz bottle. Pours hazy orange with tall, long lasting, fluffy white head and nice lacing. Aroma is of citrusy hops, tropical fruit and caramel malt. Body is full and tangy. Citrusy and piney hops, alcohol, caramel and bready malt and ripe fruit fill the mouth. Finish is long, dry, and grapefruity. Excellent brew.

Clear amber, off white head. Aroma is lots of sweet tropical fruits and citrus on a sweet malty base. Taste is sweet malts and fruit again followed by citrus and strong resinous hoppy notes. Perfect long lasting bitter dry finish. Excellent IPA.

Clear nutty brown with big frothy white head. Aroma of cinnamon, green plums, butter. Very dry on the palate with flavours of nuts, leather, coffee. Long finish, very dry. Delicious but a but overpowering with the high alcohol. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Perfect IPA- aromatic, rich flavored and has enough body to be spiied not drinked. Pours pale amber with some orange notes, thick, rich lasing top. Aroma is so complex and intense - malty sweetness backboned it just allows you to be seduced by citrus, pine, resin, sweet fruity hops dance on your nose. Taste is medium sweet and very nice balanced by medium+ hops bitter, leaving resiny, piney aftertaste. Medium+ body, thick-oily texture, soft carbonation, long, pleasant, mild resiny finish. Complex, flavorfull, enjoyable.
