3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Vigorous pour yields nice white head on this light gold beer. Lots of citrus notes in the nose. The palate is sweet with bitterness up front followed by more of that citrus at the back. Good tasting IPA.

Bottle from Flask at home. Pours hazy amber with white head. Immense aroma of hops, some pine, and some fruit. Taste is delightfully hoppy and bitter with an earthy quality to it. Perhaps some grapefruit and pine to the taste. Truly astonishing.

Celestial good fragrance of fruitiness. Perfectly balanced taste between the sweet and the bitter part. Occasionally fruity. Perfectly balanced bitterness that fills the mouth for a long time. This is perfection in the bottle. One can not more than to enjoy! Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Light amber and medium-bodied. The aroma is mostly citrusy hops, with notes of pine and spice. The flavour is richly hopped; fruity, citrusy, spicy, and a little pungent. Moderately sweet taste with a highly bitter finish. Overall, a very good IPA and nothing less than I would expect from AleSmith. It is very tasty, balanced and harmonious, despite the significant hop profile.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
For once I ran across a new-to-Texas brewer at a store before having it at Hughie’s - but I didn’t see the ipa so lunching on it now. Lightly hazy amber with a firm beige cap that laces nicely. Bitter fruit aroma and the taste is more of the same along with more grain and spice. Or maybe that’s the fried rice.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Renowned West Coast IPA, draught at Gollem in Antwerp. Very thick and densely moussy, fluffy, egg-white head over a hazy, warm orange blonde beer. Lovely ’dank’ and completely flawless aroma with hints of pink grapefruit, mandarin, some pine resin, mango, green banana, flowers, biscuit, sweet onion, hemp, lychee. Crisp, clean and refreshing onset, lovely rounded and utterly well-balanced fruitiness (orange, mango, lychee), somewhat sharpish carbo with slightly minerally effect, full soft malt sweet background, long, resinous, aromatically hoppy finish, gently bittering the back of the mouth with grapefruity, spicy and lightly piney retronasal aromas. Righteously a classic, It’s Pretty Awesome indeed.

33cl bottle. Semi-hazy pale orange with a medium height white head with good retention, that ultimately gives way to a sticky lacing. Smells like grapefruit, caramel, passion fruit and pine resin. The taste follows the same notes, grapefruit, pine, unripe tropical fruits and green hops, all very well balanced. Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
250 ml. draft @ Gollem. This one is a real classic of American Brewing. Very dark orange with a big creamy tanned head, nice lacing. Taste is big pine resin, big herbal bitterness & substantial bread malts base, orange & some sugar. Taste is big pine resin goop bitterness with a clear herbal character, leading into big malt presence, dried orange peel, bready malts, sugar, finish features some raw wet barn & mothballs hops, touch odd & bit lesser, low apricot & candy qualities overall. Boyd is lightly milky & thick. Meltier than your average modern day IPA & hop is more herbal and pine bitterness rather than some of the modern day fruit explosions. It is more classical profile (if that term means anything with regard to the USA beer scene were even classics get completely rearranged from time to time que Stone for instance). Nice old(er) school beer, drinks well, not to my exact preference but quite nice.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Nose is saturated with huge rind, grapefruit and tangerine, orange and sugar, big resin, oil, touch of cookie dough. Pour is pale orange with a touch of haze, rocky beige head. Taste is strongly bitter but squeaky clean, utterly scrapes the tongue dry, big citrus and resin, pine. Great lingering aftertaste, dry throughout. Exemplary, a fully-realized idea. [2016.06.12: 4.0]
