4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 after4ever (4500) - Brier, USA - APR 1, 2007
22, thanks to the kind hand of BitBucket. Towering moussy tan head over a hazy orange body. Gorgeous, but prepare to sit around for a while while the head settles to clingy, somewhat flotsamy foam. Big candied fruit nose--lots of sweet citrus knocking around, and some of them smell like they’ve dusted in powdered sugar for a while. There’s some caramel, maybe a hint of butterscotch in there to remind you that this beer does not consist entirely of boiled hops. Think of these malt notes as a hostage photo; they’re polaroids of the barley taken with the San Diego Union Tribune, brew day edition. ’Cause this beer’s all about the hops. Tangy citrus throughout the attack, mid-palate, and finish. Incredibly smooth and drinkable, and the 7.25% was a shocking number, at least a good point higher than I suspected. They say the local price on the bombers is reasonable. Other than the abv this beer screams sessionability in every way. Complex, satisfying, interesting, refreshing, not at all in danger of growing repetitive...and it’s not available here and it gets you too drunk. Ah, quandaries.
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 kryon (265) - SWEDEN - MAY 25, 2012
Pours golden with frizzy medium head.
Aromas are... Wow! Explodingly hoppy aromas of grapefruit, tropical fruits and caramel malts. This is the perfect aroma!
Taste has citrus, breadyness, caramel, some apricot/peachy tones as well.
Palate is really good. Starts out quite hitty with some frizzyness, mover over sweet and end very bitter.
This is a really great IPA!

Pours clear deep golden with a long lasting off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel pine, citrus, orange and grape. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long smooth light malty, bitter and dry finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Pours a golden orange color with a paper thin head yet remains highly carbonated. Aroma of biting citric hops and a mild malt attempt to balance. Not as powerful as some ipas but easy drinking and very tasty. Mouthfeel is so smooth and keeps you coming back for more!

A top notch IPA. It’s one of my favorites. I have to say this brew gives a great after taste. A must try for any hophead.

UPDATED: MAY 21, 2012 En mycket väl balanserad IPA. Smak och doft av humle, tropisk frukt, citrus, örter, en aning vanilj, karamellsötma med en trevlig grapebeska som avslut. Jag gillar den lätta kolsyran med de små bubblorna som smeker insidan av gommen med all arom.

Bottle big thanks to watson1977. Pours clear bright amber with a nice sudsy off white head that slowly settles to a sudsy film and lacing. Aroma is big citrus grapefruit/pine and resinous with a subtle sweetness. Taste is more the same big bitter/resinous piny hops and citrus fruit (grapefruit) and malt which shows light caramel. Palate is dry and sticky. Really well put together IPA. Awesome stuff! I’ll take more of this whenever!

Lots of citrus in aroma. Colour is amber and appearance is hazy. Nice amount of bitterness with just the right amount of body. Good balance between hops and body. Long finish. Fantastic IPA.
