thenick (541), North Bellmore, New York, USA Jan 21, 2008 Tap @ the brewery. Pours a cloudy golden copper color with a fluffy white head. Aroma is heavily citrus hops with a slight bit of malt thrown in for good measure. Taste is grapefruit and pine needles up front dissolving into an absolutely wonderful citrus hop finish. The beer remains smooth and supremely drinkable despite the heavy carbonation. This immediately became my new favorite IPA, and another smash hit from AleSmith.
dalekliz (163), San Diego, California, USA Aug 29, 2008 On tap at the brewery for RBSG 08. Pours a clear gold with a nice, white head. Big aroma of citrus and pine hops. Crisp, clear taste with a lot of hops. Lingering hoppy bitterness. Really great IPA. Lagunitasfan (39), San Diego, California, USA Aug 25, 2008 22 oz bottle. Bright quarter inch head reduces to dense impenetrable blanket. Smells hoppy/piney.Any movement stains the side of the glass with gooey foam. Sharp and bitter, then fruity and sweet, then bitter again. Way bitter afterburn. Stronger than some doubles. Nice. amish_caravan (204), Winona, Minnesota, USA Aug 22, 2008 pours a nice deep golden hugh. very floral scent. some citrus and fruit as well. taste is of lots of hops and a little citrus. very similar to the bells hopslam. very impressive beer. I would purchase this again for sure. IlanMan (522), Winona, Minnesota, USA Aug 22, 2008 Updated: Aug 29, 2008Thanks to Kegbear for this brew. Pour is a very clean and clear medium golden with a fluffy off white head. Aroma is amazing with tons of fresh hops, light fruit, malt, pine, and much more. Flavors are all well blended together perfectly balanced. Flavors include mellow but dominant biterness, peach, light pine, and sweet delicious malt. Damn good brew, damn good. ditmier (179), Boise, Idaho, USA Aug 21, 2008 2007 Bottle - Pours dk orange with jagged and yeasty off white head, aroma is all citrus and light malt, slight pine, flavour is what most expect from an IPA, huge bitter hops, huge malts, lingers on the back end, best IPA i’ve tasted so far...
